Whats the difference with this one, I believe this is already on Peter's pile of audio stuff.

I though this topic started of with this one.

Sorry for the confusion of my last post,

It was ment as a question not as a statement. (how would i know, anyway ?)

But i totally believe you on:

Now, today it is again so drastically better compared to what I was used to two days ago, that now *I* don't care at all. Let's say the "so much better" just overrules everything and all.

Compared to different cables, capacitors and so on.
But still minor changes in software can have drastic effect on SQ, for eg. 48 vs 1024 samples.

The whole project of xx was like this, its not a little better or worse with every version, its totally different each time a new version is
launched.
This can be hard sometimes, as in what is the "Reference" (my reference got lost a long time ago)
I am still amazed how this can sound so different each time.
Try to explain this to the simple minded people, who say its just ones and zero's (I remember a discussion with someone, a couple of years ago)

But I really enjoy the whole learning curve into achieving better sound.

Compliments to the Chef,

The DAC is galvanically isolated from the PC, and on that matter I would dare state that the PC can not make a difference.

So, WiFi, seperate videocard, overclocking are also allowed in the dedicated audio PC.
So no more power tweaking and such (CPU, RAM)

Wow, dedicated audio PC, is no longer a necessity, just get a fast PC.

Also a good thing for our American audio friends, is the "good" dollar-euro value. (0.83)
By the time your sales start the price will probably be even lower.

Hi Coen,

Did you already create a "TemporaryData" folder in your xx folder ?
Or just untick, log activities under your xx settings, then restart xx.

This a bug in xx, its looking for a temp folder that just isnt there.
So create one, or disable the logging.

Hope this makes life somewhat easier,

Best,

Roy

I wish I could load entire playlist/album to memory. That would be the cure, wouldn't be?

This is called Unattended !?

But I agree on loading a complete playlist to C: at normal attended playback, should be an option.

Maybe this helps a bit.

Marcin,

The "number of processors" should NOT be selected. (Thus Unticked)
If you selected 4 processors in the first place instead of unticked, yes, this slows things down.

OH, YEAH

 whistle

Btw, Touch Yello Deluxe version also contains a DVD with a 24/48 PCM track.

Marcin,

I think this is about removing a misbehaving XML user.config file, see:
http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=709.0

Dont forget to put the new xx install in the same folder as your first install of xx 0.9z version
Because registry entries are made with this new version, see the quote from the release notes:

Quote
• Kind of important : While so far we could manage without really installing anything (Registry stuff), now it takes two OCX files to be registered.
Two subsequent messages at the first startup of 0.9z will tell you so. Notice they can be unregistered manually only.
When you want to do that (hence get rid of XXHighEnd in the first place) do this, and to it *before* you throw out your XX folder :

- Open a command window (cmd.exe from the Startbutton - Run). Then go to your XX folder (CD \yourXXFolder) and in there, type these two lines :
   regsvr32/u isanaloglibrary.ocx
   regsvr32/u isdigitallibrary.ocx

Both commands should be followed by a message that the Unregistring has succeeded.

Then do a fresh install of xx 0.9z, followed by 0,9zb
Hope this helps you a bit,

Roy

Johan,

I think this an old bug, about the dots in the filename.
Just rename folder to "George Russell - New York, NY"

207  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: SQ of 0.9z on: June 01, 2010, 03:21:17 pm
Although,

I think with such dynamics, speed and precision becomes much more important.
Precision by means of word-clock and speed by decent (enough) dacs.
Because sounds/samples are much loooooonger they can only get better and smoother by means of upsampling. (AP)

I think I run into my system (dac) limits,

Hi All,

Same here, sound is really amazing.

Special mode is to hard and direct, resulting in listen fatiqueness after some albums or even tracks. (got even as low as 32 samples at Q1=-3)

Adaptive mode is REALLY REALLY great at 1024 samples, lower as 1024 samples will result in lesser bass, soundstage becomes smaller.

1024 Samples = ANALOG

Never heard such dynamics ever before, anywhere !

 very happy Thnx Peter

Brian,

Engine3.exe is also used for Engine4 thats were we message comes from.

But, do turn of log activities in xx, and restart xx, hope this helps

Danny,

Just try some settings between 48-1024 samples,
Think as 1024 is maybe to fluffy in bass region
512 is more firm.

I stick with 512 for now
