#4Engine is definitely more distorted,
I already said this to Calibrator today.
But if you want massive try Enigma 4 - The Screen Behind the Mirror
Then I kind of liked it.
But I heard some more albums today, sometimes its just to distorded it gets on my nerves.
Especially when there are lots of samples or instruments at the same time, it becomes to difficult
Then really I prefer the latest #3Engine.

Will try some more settings, like upsampling on/off, latency, different drivers, 0,0,0,0 vs 30,30,0,0

I got it working by using the right drivers, but there are more drivers to test. (Juli@-x2v-v0_974 is the one working now)

I have same experience, before I couldn't select sample-rate, with older (for kernel) drivers I can.
But didn't go back to newest drivers yet, will try today.

Thats for sure, I can´t use the card for watching HD-movies (DTS 1536 for eg.) anymore.
Having 1 PC to work with, this is not a nice thing, but haven't tried all options yet.

Kernell is a bit tedious, xx works less responsive, lots of work to be done there.
Lots of listening to do also, this will keep us all busy for several weeks, I guess.
There is no better or worse (at least not for now), it becomes a new and open project, so please keep sharing your experiences.
You don't make it easy on yourself (or us) Peter !
Hope you find time to get all things done as you were hoping, referring to NOS1 too. (although this is not completly up to you, depending on other people and sources)

And for me, less time on audio, more on finding a decent Job.
Writing like 5 letters and applications a day.
Work in construction completely dried out (and will remain so for 2 or 3 more years to come), so I have to find something else.
Career switch ? I don't think I see the construction anymore by that time I finished my basic-electronics course and maybe some Visual Basics.
Maybe will go for software development or something like that, don't know for sure, were it will leads me.
Suggestions always welcome !

Up and running, #Engine4 with Juli@ on W7 x64,
just minutes ago, it deffinitly sounds different,

Latency on 2048 is a must also, otherwise I get gliching in sound.
Btw latency on 2048 is also better on 3#Engine.

I Already tried an XP64 driver yesterday but no luck.

 

I have uninstalled Juli@ drivers........
extracted new drivers to folder.
when I want to update from that folder, 

I get this screen....

Still no luck over here, don't get it.
I'am I doing something wrong ?

Is it about this specific driver version ?

Did you find time to listen to 3#Engine, I think there is improvement there !
Will get #4Engine eventually, or not, is it even better for sure, time will learn.
I think its about the ultimate combination between DAC and PC.
If kernel works best there, thats good, but Engine3 is not dead!
For those who get it to work its great, don't be dissapointed when not, use Engine3 instead.
 

And we got some free pop-ups screens too, hit the ok button twice and sound will be nice !, hehe

I'am Playing 1 Blue-Note album after another, (with Engine3)(have Juli@ too, as you know)
Latest version is way better, less loud.
But bass is more firm and overall very smooth.
It wasn't my interntion to test xx, but I know I ain't wrong, it does a better job.
Little surpriced by this..............were does this ends............wha !!!
So I was drawn to the speakers, without me wanting it.....such
Just let it play for some weeks will see.
But I know 1 thing for sure previous version had some bad elements (loudisch, cold, less analog)

I don't know what Peter did, but it is a workaround of W7 problems I guess.
So.........

I have a text file of most buttons, but not the latest changes !

Otherwise see "Edit this script"  or open in text-compiler to see all buttons

I have those messages too ! (click 4 times to be gone)

But can it be so that #3Engine is better too!

I have something back I have missed, full firm bass, and all is controlled by amp better too.
So very big and controlled basses are back, I'am using same settings as before.
Did you changed (updated) anything.
It sounds way smoother then before, I dunno.
