Yep,

But the big Q is: will the software be programmable and workable for our needs.

Or with other words can it do Macro's

Check this out, mouse and remote.

AIRMOUSE

Didn't know this was already on market.
Execute pre-programmed commands by movement.

Roy

Quote:

Gesture Commands: Gesture-based commands add a new level of sophistication to the MX Air mouse. By recognizing defined patterns of movement, or gestures, MX Air enables people to perform commands by simply moving the mouse in a specified way. For example, to change the volume, people need only press and hold the volume button and gesture – to the right to increase volume, or to the left to decrease it. For music applications, holding the Play/Pause button and making a small circular motion to the right activates the skip track command, while a circle to the left repeats the song. Using Logitech® SetPoint™ software, people can choose from additional gesture commands, including Air Zoom, Launch MenuCast™ and Recenter the cursor.

After reading that thread about mall-functioning SSD's
Would not trust an upgrade.

W7 (Vista too) does "learn" somehow, kind of "prefetching" or settling down.
It becomes faster after a couple days.
When all programs and/or services are "spoken" to, it becomes more quiet. (This is also the case after a reboot, it takes minutes to settle down)
I don't know what accually happens, I am not a computer savy.

But things as stalling or freezing up, nothing like that happens over here,
I really "abuse" my setup by doing several heavy things at once.
Everything is always instant (Milliseconds)(except when some software has to start for eg. a sleeping hdd)(witch is stupid sometimes)
Even when its idle for hours, I open an program, all is instant.
Computer is defenitly faster than me.
This doesn't say anything about SQ, but hope you can manage to get xx less OS dependable (hope this will be the case when writing your own drivers and codecs)

Oh, something else,

Peter can it be possible that when playing Attended (or Unattended), 1 flac track is being converted by 4 (0r 2) cores.
I believe you do the same with flac/cue, just cut of a piece

Can you devide a flac track by 4 and then convert by 4 cores! (something like a fake cue)
Can this speed things up ?? (think about for eg. klaus schulze tracks, long)
So instead of 4 tracks being converted by 4 cores, just convert 1 track by 4 cores

Peter,

For me W7 is still the better feeling OS to work on, but very curious about an A-B to compare SQ.
I believe nobody did a true compare between the both, going back and forth I mean.

Do you have 2 SSD's (or partitions) to do a true compare between the two ?

And you are kind enough to let us know about your experiences.

To be honest, I did experienced the same thing like GerardA with listening to Anouk.(months ago)
Didn't like it, but didn't liked it much before either. (too harsh)
But a whole lot has changed in the mean time.
And then there is that latency thing

I will keep on using W7 untill the evaluation period expires (03-2010)
And we will see from there.

Still evaluating, I don't really care if its gonna be Vista or W7 on the audio-pc.

I'm getting my 1616M back today so I will try at home on the hifi with some native 24/96 material.

Try 16/44 material instead

The last track 13 is a data track!?! Perhaps this is causing the trouble?

Yea, I was thinking of that, and have disabled "crack detect"
But anyway, I just cut the song of at 2.36 or delete it at all
354  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: High Frequency Sound while playing (9y-4) on: December 27, 2009, 01:49:14 pm
I didn't try it yet Roy, but do you mean it's just in the track ?

Its in the track.
355  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: High Frequency Sound while playing (9y-4) on: December 27, 2009, 12:34:59 pm
Album ? track ?

John Scofield - 2000 - Bump

But it happened after the last track was finished playing.

Just tried it in Foobar, but it seems to be in the last song. (@ 02.38)

Thnx Telstar good

xrecode can do just the thing I want, this is so much better.
Oh yes, all @ once

And using multiple-cores!

This is just great,thank you

359  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Ape Ogg on: December 22, 2009, 06:47:20 pm
Just another Q,

Does xx makes full use of a Quad-core (so using 4 cores) to convert to wav,
When going to Unattended mode ?

This is because, when using Dbpower Amp music converter only 1 core is used.
But when converting to FLAC in Foobar, 4 cores are used.
360  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Ape Ogg on: December 22, 2009, 06:36:32 pm
Hi all,

.Ape files just won't do for xx, because it takes too long to decompress to wav.
Because xx does this before playback and then takes the file to C: drive.
Flac converts a track in 1-2sec range and ape in the 4-10 sec range, or something like that.

But I hear Gerard...........

Still thinking just is doable............

just load an .ape or .ape/cue in xx, correct the cue-sheet (as in .wav to .ape)
This is because when people rip an cd with EAC, an then convert to ape, the cue-sheet still revers to CDimage.wav
But the file is CDImage.ape.

This is most anoying, so convert to wav first, or correct the cue-sheet in a txt-compiler. (just change .cue in .txt)

But just whatever input you give,
because there is alot, wmv,alac,flac,wav,ape,tta,wv,m4a or with other words lossless, with or without cue-sheet.

xx should just output flac (or wav) to the same folder and delete originals.
This to get seperate FLAC tracks, but this is just a personal choice.

And maybe do this as batch-encoding, the whole bunch @ once

Makes my live a bit easier

Just think about it

Roy

- Only create a folder.jpg, back.jpg and folder-structure. (size or type doesn't matter)
- Then let xx convert all lossless files to for eg. seperate tracks FLAC.
- Then use Tag&Rename to make/re-make your track-names, this goes pretty fast. (maybe future implementing, or db acces would be great)
- Then let xx convert all cover-art to jpeg.
- Then resize all folder.jpg files to "smaller" size (This is in next version already)
- Then resize all other cover-art to "normal" size (This also in next version )
- Then create gallery
