Solved my problem with opening certain folders.

But there can not be a dot (.) in album names like I said before with B.B.E and B.B. King.
But also "vol.1" in foldername and for eg. ''Vangelis - Albedo 0.39"

Maybe this was always the case!

Telstar or other W7 and maybe Vista users too check your resource manager for:

TrustedInstaller.exe (I have this as a service for no reason)

it happens every some what minutes.

But you can turn it off.

You said it correctly SeVeReD, anything is possible but it cannot touch SQ. Wink

Peter,

This just hits me  wacko

If I play an album and load for eg. the remastered version after that (WITH THE SAME TRACK NAMES)
It can happen that xx will acually do the first album again (how do you know for sure that this can not happen???)

Now you don't !!
 bye

Yes Telstar look in to that please,

you have dedicated machine now.

btw I had the same experience with w7 install (defender and such and check your auto-defrag)

Machine is almost dead now, like peter discribed there are maybe 5 or 6 services left. (maybe W7 has more, I didn't dive into that)
Those last services contains for eq. the service recycle-bin (this is kinda dangerous!)

Just for people who don't know this:

To REALLY reduce your shutdown time. Start Regedit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlSet / Control. Click on the "Control" Folder. Select "WaitToKillServiceTimeout" Right click on it and select Modify. The default value is 20000. Setting it to a lower 4 digit value, (say 5000) will make your PC shutdown faster, but you could end up losing data, so use this tweak judiciously. Remember, Windows does not in any case, recognise a 3-digit numeral here. (just set 1000)

Sidenote: sometimes when a hdd is sleeping @ shutdown it still takes a couple of seconds

Make various menu's in Vista appear faster:

This was a popular tweak in XP to do away with the slow start-menu delay. Since Vista has a different start-menu this tweak would no longer apply to it but it still works on other various menu's in Vista that otherwise have a long delay when pausing over them. Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. Change the "MenuShowDelay" string to a value of "20". You can set it as low as you want but I find "20" to be a good value.

(Vista only)
Disable Transient Multimon Manager (TMM) : The Transient Multimon Manager (TMM) is a Microsoft Windows Vista operating system feature targeted at improving the user experience of connecting and disconnecting displays, particularly for the mobile user.
When you start Vista, you see a 2-3 sec delay followed by a blank black screen. This is the time Vista searches for external monitors. So if you dont use an external monitor, you could always safely turn this off!
To do so, Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Task Schedular.
On LHS, expand "Task Scheduler Library" then expand "Microsoft", then expand "Windows" and finally click "MobilePC". You will see a task called "TMM". Rt-Click on it, and select "Disable".

And what about this one:

I also turned most of these off.
and there is a reboot required after doing this

Turn windows features on or off see pic. (in W7)

I like to be in control,
This hour I want Reagae and later on I would like to hear Zappa.

I am the DJ here (finaly). Cool

And I do have lots of albums that must be heard from beginning till end
I dont do in tracks (thats Ipod mp3 blehhh, community) just get yourself some good albums.
Respect the artist and listen the album as ment to be.(alan parsons mix of pink floyds DSOTM for eq.)

Or just use "explorer" to select your tracks and maintain folder structure.

Really enjoying this,

Soundstage appears to be much bigger,
The pure bas sounds come out with so much control.
And I am talking about bookshelf speakers (but with homebuild X-over, Phase linear, high-grade parts, better then a 24db per oct tweeters up to 60Khz)
Not that big 300x230x400 or something like that.
But the sound really fills my room (and neighbours(go live somewhere else!))

Massive Attack for eq. has some sneaky basses - xx does music with big basses very well

Never heard a source perform this well.

I know Telstar is going te be a very happy person.
When he finished his build next week combined with this version of XX

Then you start to wonder,

Did you made use of a (sortlike) partition on C:
Pre-Reserved space or something.
(or clustergroups or adresses that are following up)
or maybe on the RAM.

Is this the foundation for the better SQ ??

I see how it works now,

there are always 7 unicode files in the xx folder,
and they are being written over. (so there can be tracks from like 3 albums in there)

So the thing that happens to me can really occur.

Right!
525  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Version 0.9y-1d feedback on: August 16, 2009, 05:39:32 pm
XX is playing an album with 5 tracks on it

Can there be 7 unicode files in xx folder?

The thing that happens here is this:

Sometimes in the middle of a track xx starts to play a song from previous album
That is still in there (on C:) I guess.

Can this even happen or am I not hearing this good.
