Here's the picture of the settings area. Drive E is an internal drive, not the OS drive, that has all the music files. I put the data file there when I was switching between OS systems, vista and w7,to  keep playlists consistent. I didn't have a problem with this initially. Now if I move the data file to the C drive I still get the same error.

But before you do (and the problem went away), can you tell me what it exactly is you when this occurs ?

Every time I hit the library button in the lower right hand corner I get this error. It began with 9z3 until the present. I'm also pretty sure it began around the time I started using ramdisc, but I'm not certain. Am off to work now so will apply your solution this evening. Thanks.

Still having the same problem. Tried deleting all the files you suggested but couldn't find [XX]\LibraryData.txt . Deleting the others didn't help. Here's a picture of the error (the blue highlights in textboxes is a new issue also):

814  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: XXHighEnd Model 0.9z-4-1 on: February 23, 2011, 05:48:44 am
Thus far I've gotten the following SFS values;

M= 200
MC= 165
SC= 20

Spent the evening listening to SC. The sound really is incredible. Feels like I have a seat just inside the microphone with vocals. I also seem to have a larger range on the volume knob for this incredible sound: I don't have to play it so loud but I can go louder than ever before too. Also I found there's a big difference on my system when I reduced the buffer size from 512 to 48 with Q1 @ 1. Reducing the buffer size really gives the feeling of having a seat inside the microphone ( sounds dumb I know,  but can't think of a better way to describe it.) Lastly, I think I like SC @ 20 better than MC @ 165 but won't know for sure till I give MC a good listen. Thanks Peter!

(Help! Help! I'm tempted to turn on ramdisc, reduce it to a minimum size for XX and a few tracks of music, and see how it sounds......please stop me!)
815  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Waiting for Services to Stop on: February 23, 2011, 05:26:56 am
When I first turn on the computor or reboot the "Waiting for Services to Stop" message takes a full 3-4 minutes to disappear. Thereafter, during a listening session, it disappears in just a few seconds whenever I load new tracks. Took me a while to realize that I was just being impatient.

and I wait and wait and wait but nothing happens.

While the message "please wait" is showing, and after having waited a good minute or two, hit the "Okay" tab on the message and it will disappear. Then hit alt x and XX should reappear. Hit play again and this time the "please wait" message will disappear on its own. That's the way it worked for me when I first tried it last night.

 Then, if you ticked the "do not start" button in the setup, don't forget to hit "alt p" to get the music to start. Last night, several times, I was staring at the screen waiting for music before remembering to hit "alt P".
817  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Straight Contiguous 9z-4-1, still low SFS on: February 22, 2011, 05:57:25 am
Thought I followed everything correctly in the release notes, but I still can't get a SFS larger than 10 with SC. Actually, I started at 65; when I reached 10 and still got a "lower the SFS" message I stopped trying and switched to MC, SFS 165, wich is twice as large as I could go with 9z-4. The sound is really, really great though I cannot turn it up too loud cause its late. It just occurs to me that with Windows 7 SP1 the only tweak I did was to stop indexing. Have shut everything down now, so I will check tomorrow if indexing has anything to do with my SC issue.
818  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Volume Adjustment in Windows despite KS on: February 21, 2011, 04:44:33 am
Try increasing buffer and Q1. If I go too low I get that humming, scratching sound too.
819  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: What is your 32 bit possible SFS size ? on: February 19, 2011, 02:40:05 pm
I was just able to use a SFS of 80 with SC and 185 with MC, using Vista 32 bit. Both sounded very good but don't know if they sound as good as the settings in my signature (the best sound ever for me). Am leaving for a short trip till Monday, so I can't compare W7 with Vista sound (if I listen to one more song my wife is threatening to throw my dac out the window). Did you compare your vista sound with your windows 7 sound?

Thanks Chris. 21 points off of turnovers: though Green Bay made plays when they had to, the Steelers beat themselves. Can't win 'em all so we look to next year. I'm just glad it was a decent game that could have gone either way till the end.

Totally agree that the hype around the game is downright shameful. Have you seen the movie "Idiocracy"? Super bowl hype is straight out of that film.

The concert was sublime. I'm really just now learning to appreciate and love classical music. I purchased a season pass to the season's chamber music offerings. 6 performances, 2nd row center at $23 a show. Unbelievable music experience for an unbelievable price. Its really a shame that this music is so under appreciated in the US. The venue is only ever half full.

If you like singer/songwriter stuff you should definitely listen to Patty Griffin. She's a female Bob Dylan who is a great guitar player with an amazing voice: not always a pleasing voice but extremely powerful and moving. She will definitely reveal any weakness in ones system's ability to deal with over the top treble, like a violin. Living with Ghosts is my favorite lyrics wise, though it's not recorded as well as her other records.

Blix Records recently released a new Eva offering called "Simply Eva". They are demos or initial recordings of just eva and her guitar that apparently didn't make the cut. However, they are full of phrasing that were being considered. Not all the tracks are that good but Somewhere Over the Rainbow (except for the last note!--literally), True Colors, Time After Time and Autumn Leaves are all breathtaking.

Am leaving in an hour or so to hear the Philadelphia Orchestra's chamber music folks perform :
Koechlin - Four Little Pieces, Op. 32, for horn, violin, and piano
Brahms - Trio in E-flat major, Op. 40, for horn, violin, and piano
Beethoven - String Quartet No. 10 in E-flat major, Op. 74 ("

Seats are 2nd row center.......

This will be followed by the Superbowl where my team The Pittsburgh Steelers will be besting the Green Bay Packers--the Steelers are going for an unprecedented 7th championship ( fashioned "World" Championship here in the Us but, obviously, we exagerate).

But first: A trip to the liquor store to keep all going smoothly.....really, an unprecendented day!

And again: with native 24/96 from 2L (Marianne Thorsen Mozart Violin Concerto) the largest SFS I can use is 10 with SC. I am also manually copying tracks to the readyboost drive just as I did with ramdisc.

Sound is really great but I think (maybe/probably)that higher SFS with both redbook and high res would be better.
823  Ultimate Audio Playback / Playback Tweaks and Source related subjects / Re: Readyboost on: February 05, 2011, 06:22:26 pm
One MORE thing: My first Readyboost attempt I only allocated 750 mb and couldn't get the SFS larger than 10; when I increased its size to 2 gig I could increase SFS to 28.

Hope this isn't too annoying as I plumb the depths of the best "midfi" sound!
824  Ultimate Audio Playback / Playback Tweaks and Source related subjects / Re: Readyboost on: February 05, 2011, 06:15:56 pm
One more advantage of flash drive/readyboost: booting up and off is a whole lot faster without ramdisc.
825  Ultimate Audio Playback / Playback Tweaks and Source related subjects / Re: Readyboost on: February 05, 2011, 04:55:08 pm
Well gave this a try, allocated 2 gigs of a 4 gig flash drive to readyboost and am playing SC with a SFS of 28. Its much more stable than what I could get before. Also I'm able to flip back and forth between MC and SC. Will need to do a lot more listening but here are my initial impressions. Using the same SFS there is very little difference between them though SC seems to sound a little more "live sounding". Increasing SFS to 80 with MC and comparing to SFS of 28 with SC produces interesting results. Bonnie raitt's live version of "Love Me Like A Man" sounds better with MC cause its a litte darker and High frequencies seem more muted; however her studio version of "Dimming of the Day" sounds better with SC as she's more "present and live sounding.

Almost forgot: This is the first time I've been able to use special mode with SC; with ramdisc all prior testing was in adaptive; I could never get special mode with SC. Lastly playing off the flash drive versus the ramdisc seemed pretty much identical.
