121  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Boot Questions RAM Disk on: January 21, 2016, 04:07:28 pm
Gerard,

I moved this from the Chatter board to XXHighEnd support. In the end it is just XXHighEnd.

Was this expected ... no, not really. But at making the next Tutorial I just ran into something which looks like a cache issue - not sure yet do.
So Mr Guinny Pig ... if you don't mind ...

If you start XXHighEnd in there (10586), do you see an all empty XXHighEnd or do you see things from me (like music data which is not yours). I just wonder ...

Peter

I see a empty XXHIghend  Happy

123  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Boot Questions RAM Disk on: January 21, 2016, 03:53:05 pm
Ok....
I have booted the disk and i have music. No RAM for now but just BASE Un Minimise.

Sound: SCAAAARY sh*t.  Wink

But that is not it.

In the Topic Unboxing the RAM Disk you say this

Notice that here it shows that 10586 is the current Boot, but in your (first Boot) case it will show 10565.

My first boot. Meaning doing nothing and just let it go boot. Goes into 10586. That is ok???

Haha, if you have so much spare space, why not ...

I am not so sure I'd like that extra adapter. So be sure to try without that as well, ok ?

Best regards,
Peter

Not sure either but worth the try...

Here are some pics of the SATA Removable Hard Drive Bay. Make sure you drill a hole down below. Pushing the door closed makes the bay moves a bit to the inside of the cabinet and that works not comfortabel. With the hole and screw to the cabinet there is no problem. A real great product!

I do not understand is it possible or not to play music from Ram without a Nas/server. I hace my music trough usb in a docking station.

Better try a new ssd or hdd first. Meaning order just one. Will take more Time but less money and trouble.

Hi Peter,

I know this may sound weird, but if you could just have the latest version (10586.0) for my hard drive and what is required to have it work (for the maintenance updates that you may send to us), I would be happy. Adjusting for one version and knowing that this version is the best will suit me fine, as I do not have the intention to go back to windows 8 or 10 build 10074 (as an example).

Of course, only if that will NOT extend the time you will take to have it done this way...

Regards,

Alain

Yes Peter, if it makes it easyer for You only the most basic best OS Will be good enough.
