WHAT ?
But Gerard, are you maybe able to tell yourself about the difference between those two situations ?
I already got mad because of not being able to repeat this (now you understand better why all this "reset" stuff emerged).

smirk

Peter

Since answers stay out for now and to shortcut things somewhat - here's how to get things back to normal in this situation :

Use the [ S ] button at the mouse arrow above and set the colors and scaling sort of how you see below.
Also set the little slider in the left hand border to other than the bottom position.

Also check out your Q1 and Device Buffer Size which most probably will be 0 and 1024 respectively, while the default should be 14 and 4096.

All other Settings must be observed too, because they all can be a kind of rubbish.

Peter

This did help.  Happy

But installing it on another HDD there was no problem.

Now i have two HDD with W10 (working) on it.

Ok, please ... Go into your XX folder and rename the SettingsReset.tss file to SettingsReset.tst and then restart XXHE.

I have been trying to mimic this for half a day and it woulnd't ...

So question : Does that help ?

This did not help.
185  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: NOS1a Driver on: June 07, 2015, 08:31:12 pm
Gerard - And now you are going to tell me that you did not apply the "Not Signed Drivers" stuff as layed out in the 2.00 Release Notes. Right ?
So look for "signed" in there.

Or ?

Peter

You are right i did not do that. But after doing the same error came up.

Maybe first look for the drivers of the Asrock first. Tomorow  Happy

Gerard,

Can you tell me first, please, whether XXHighEnd finished the very first attempt of starting up (say "install") or that you had to kill it because nothing happened - BUT it showed on the Taskbar.

?

Peter

Yes i had to kill it.  Happy
187  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Drivers MB ASROCK on: June 07, 2015, 07:33:55 pm
Gerard, very good remark.

Actually I wouldn't know. What is the (error) message you receive ?

All I know is that I used the W8.1 drivers. So at some stage they came about (I recall a version 3.x + but not even sure a this moment) I and simply used those.
All went fine with those although I recall something like a very long time before the first (the one with the .inf's) started - thought it did nothing and next started it a second time.

Otherwise I can't imagine that anything for W10 is about because just nothing is.

Peter

The install cd just wont start installing the drivers. I Look on the internet for them.  Happy

Here i went wrong  Happy Happy

Find your Windows 8 installation CD or image (this must be extracted and not the .iso file. Look at the drive letter (and its path when you have it on disk somewhere).

Hi Gerard,

Help me a little ...

Why using a W8 DVD for this ?

Quote
I get this message. I have a win 8 64 DVD (No .Iso)

So I understand that, but I'd say you must talk about similar but then W10 ?
So do you have the W10 .iso somewhere ? (in a fashion that you can access the files, like how it would be when on DVD).

Let me know (more),
Peter

PS: Of course you can/should first locate that "source" folder. Did you ? (no, not if you don't have the .iso at all). And if so, is that on Drive E: as your screenshot shows ?

I thought this 3.5 was only on the win 8 dvd   wacko

I thought this 3.5 was only on the win 8 dvd   wacko
But on the win10 dvd as well?

I saw the source map on the dvd

195  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Windows 10 Tutorials question. on: June 06, 2015, 07:54:21 pm
Peter,

Am i reading this wrong?

- Cause the UAC (User Account Control) to be at normal levels.
This means that if you have been running XXHighEnd before under W10, you must set the slider to one of the higher levels and reboot.
UAC can be located by means of Control Panel - User Accounts - Change User Account Control Settings.

Here you write to put the UAC as high as possible. Before W10 it was as low as possible?? Right??  Happy Happy
