256  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your questions about the PC -> DAC route / Re: Silverstone card on: January 16, 2014, 05:36:24 pm
Hey Pedal,

I think we all have the P version (Molex). Besides that, maybe SATA is worse though it needs investigation of the power supply in the PC to really know that.
But now I think of it, for the Molex would count the same. So :

What seems best is when a spply line is taken from a group in the PSU which doesn't supply other devices as well.
*If* it matters in the first place !

Regards,
Peter

Peter,

Where did you buy?

Thanx

261  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 1.186a - Phase Alignment, anyone ? on: January 14, 2014, 07:45:48 pm
I tried it but i get the message that i can't use it with q5 set to 1.

Btw if PA works it can be seen on the wallpaper. But if you don't use the wallpaper it can't be seen anywhere else. Can you make something so it can be seen?

Yo Gerard,

No, I did not know that. And I don't believe it either. Haha.

So, supposed I ask you to repeat this all, and step by step tell me what you see. What would you come up with ?

Regards,
Peter

Wel it is but maybe i am doing something wrong. To get to to the stable sign i have to push refresh first it says. After i have done that STABLE comes up.

When i reboot the  stable is gone and it say's use refresh again.

All,

What a suprise this is!!
I have been playing for a few day's now and all is working perfect! Not a single error (sound stop) anymore and the sound is more than pleasing :-) By far the best model!!

Peter congratulations with getting out of beta!

I like to wish everybody the best for 2014!!

268  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 0.9z-8-3a PC freeze on: October 09, 2013, 09:52:20 pm
Ok i got this after a lot of trials.

I have read on the internet that sometimes Dram memory packs can cause this when set to a manual setting.

You have to use one of the XMP profile settings instead.

After one week not a single one anymore.

 rofl ok
269  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Restore point W8 on: September 21, 2013, 09:31:23 pm
Sorry to intrude... I used Google translation to understand Happy

Gerard, is it possible that you are changing from Minimize OS to Normal OS with the copy that is in ramdisk ?

Not that it will automatically correct things, but I strongly advise to always use the physical XXHE that is on your disk to do this, not the XXHE in ramdrive...

Regards,

Alain

Hey alain,

Don't excuse  Happy

No i only use Imdisk for playback drive. If i try to open restore point in un minimize mode i get the same message as in XX.

See my previous post ...

After a warm reboot, stop into the 10 minutes.
Moved mouse, Vol-Up this time. Stop again after the 10 minutes.
Moved mouse, did nothing, stop after 3:50.

So by now I now that Vol-Up or -Down doesn't matter and all is completely repeatable.

Only Stop - Play and then change the volume helps to eliminate it throughout the boot session.
And I sure can not relate that to anything in XXHighEnd ...

Peter

This is a way (see link below) to see if this hiberfil is on or off. Meaning dir c:\ /ah

I think i managed to get rid of it by means of the trick Coen wrote. Until now no stops anymore.

http://www.nextofwindows.com/hiberfil-sys-in-windows-8-and-why-you-shouldnt-disable-hibernation-to-delete-it/

But i have changed more things in the same time to be honest. I now that is stuppid.  unhappy
