Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: Phase Alignment sound wise

In my case, PA(-) sounds flatter and duller than without PA - just as you describe. But PA(+) gives me a better sound than I've ever had before.
Try both - and + before making a judgement on PA. If after that you still prefer the sound without PA, then cool.
Interestingly, my single-ended 300B amp shows an identical behaviour pattern - reversing the polarity of the speaker terminals makes it sound way, way more life-like. I've always thought that maybe its inherent harmonic distortion is cancelling that of the speakers' in some way.... but I have no real evidence for this, other than the improvement in sound.
Mani.
Hey Mani, That + you talk about is that with of without IPASE engaged? thanx

Does this still happen when you kill XXEngine3.exe from memory (click blue led at the right) ?
And otherwise, do you have a screenshot of that message for me ?
Thanks, Peter

Hello Peter,
finally got my audio computer connected to the net and now there on XX7-3 in activated form as well! Audio bliss BUT: i can not get my Q1 slider higher than 8, after that it returns to 0 or 1. I searched for this topic in your manual and on the forum. Could not find this porblem anywhere. What could I be doing in the wrong way this time?
regards, Leo
What i have nodiced that at a certain setting (rescale) The second number is not been seen. So it look like it goes up to 9 but the second number is 10 but it looks like 1.

Apart from hopping to a pre-0.9z-7 version to 0.9z-7 and above - for which applies what just has been described, *any* new version needs explicit Activation from now on; use the 0.9z-7 Code you obtained earlier and apply it to the Activation Procedure (see below); Copying the .dat file you may be used to, is not sufficient anymore !
Hi Peter, I also encountered problem engaging PA with Z703. I am pretty certain it is not related to activation in my case as I did use the previously obtained code and also a newly acquired code today with same outcome on PA. Increasing buffer size (eg Q1 = 30 x 3) will not engage PA. The only setting that I can get PA engaged is to set "fade out step" to 0 and the other new feature within PA to 0 too (sorry cannot remember the name - it is on top of fade out step). Any other setting than 0 will result in an deactivation of PA regardless of buffer size, sfs, or min OS. With both new feature under PA settings at 0, there is plop and low frequency AC pulse in case as found in previous version of Z7. Best regards, Praphan Hi Praphan When you set it at a different setting than zero (SFS Rounds) PA is engaged after the seconds you have set but you can't see the engaging on the coverart. If i understand it correctly.

Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Minimized Mode for 09-z7-3

Hmm ... Well, at least I can tell that Normal Mode + Phase Alignment sounds awful to me. But okay, that's only . But I don't recognize any of this. Of course you should go first to Normal Mode before starting the (a) new version (I hope that is in the Release Notes somewhere). Eric, please do NOT obtain a new Activation Code. That is, I rather sort out what is happening. But I realize you are a bit on your own for this. So, if you have that Restore Point (you should), can you go back to that, and start all over with this 0.9-z7-3 ? I don't see why it shouldn't work. And one time (Gerard) ? that tells me nothing either. What do you mean ? one time works, and back to Normal doesn't work anymore ? or back works but then indeed a next attempt for Minimized not ?? Also for Nik ... Totally nothing has changed related to 0.9-z7-2. Regards, Peter Peter, Yes back to normal mode works ok. But the second attempt that i like to minimise it does not. I use the restore point to get it going again.

Peter, I cannot go into Minimized Mode for 09-z7-3. Activation (using the same code as 09-z7-2) seems successful (Red borders). Or do you think I need a new Activation Code to go into Minimized Mode?
For the first time I perceived PA. First impression is that it has less energy focus on bass. And very clean mids/highs. I am aware that it will take me some time to get used to the new sound . And I can say more when I play Minimized (as I always do) after this problem here has been resolved.
Cheers, Eric
I can only go 1 time in minimise mode. The 2e attempt does not work anymore. I alway's use restore point and go back before minimise mode. Than put in new XX folder and made the new settings and than again minimise.

Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / NOS1 users with cracks

Peter All, I finally managed crackfree playback. I have set the USB Buffer Size from the Phasure USB audio control panel to 16 ms. Before it was 8 ms. For fun i have set it to 4 ms which gave me cracks all over. At the moment with 16 ms i have none. (I use Scheme 3 again and no SFS rounds)

Oh ? [I changed the title, so it's more speaking now, hopefully]. Ok. If that is the case, can you copy the behaviour (of the "cracks") when you set it back to Scheme-3 ? Don't be disappointed if the cracks stay away ... But anyway, I'm curious ! Peter With Scheme 2 i sure get less and less loud cracks. But scheme 2 causes that XX will only play only one track at a time. I do not have plops or anything when i hit stop. Only at start and end of a track and with Scheme 3 sometimes in the middle of a track. Really have the idear that this all is to much for the processor.
