Sorry to respond this late Gerard. But do you happen to know when (which version) they still played ?

And when you say "FLAC error", can you tell what the error is (about) ?
This looks like an error from the FLAC decoder itself, which makes it unlikely that it worked before. I mean, I never had another version of this than the one right from the start ...

Peter,

I will check it out this week.... But it only say's ENGINE 3 STOPPED WORKING... About the late response that really doesn't matter.... You where bussy and for me you dont have to response alway's when everything is clear...'

That's great!  Happy Can that also be done direct analoog?

I don't know Gerard, but i think that is not possible, because analog out is not a 'physical output'

Oh  unhappy Haha

Well than i wait until the dac has arrived  Happy
829  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: PCI card SPDIF output on: April 13, 2008, 11:41:44 pm

But not better than the CMedia I suppose ? smirk
Happy

Well yes actually! In the post i deleted (sorry) i mentioned that the EMU sounded softer and warmer. But that was because of the mixer involved.
Now without mixer (ahum. i think so) The depth is now equal to the cmedia/dogber, but the EMU has more stage, seems cleaner.

So i bought something good than! Happy Happy Happy

Hybride,

I was thinking can you play double? I cannot anymore since the official Vista driver.. V200

Well, it's quit easy..

Create a new session and create a 'send' within that session. Point the output to SPDIF.
Thats it. What i did wrong was creating a 'send' in the mixer instead of in the session.
Is this new for you guys?

So you can check analoog than? can't wait until i get home.... Night shift up to 06.00   unhappy

Thanx for this!!

Gerard,

I removed the post, because i have managed to bypass the mixer with the EMU. Although i think i did.
I have made a session which directly send the input to spdif. Non of the sliders is working then anymore.
Now i'm doing listening tests. Bypassing the mixer works much better! SQ is excellent.

Hi Hybride,

I have read your post about the three PCI cards you have tried. Can't find it anymore. Nevertheless thanks for pointing it out. I alway's wondered if the EMU's mixer also is involved with the spdif output. Peter and i tried it also to get rid of that mixer but it did not work overhere. I dont have a dac yet so i play analoog to receiver. Did you tried that with the Cmedia? Than i think i will buy that card also... You said it is not to expensive.. Can you post me a link to that card and that special driver?

834  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Flac error on: April 11, 2008, 01:24:14 pm
Peter,

Playing Flac file's so now and than the error Engine 3 stopped working comes up. Strange thing is though that it is the same track or tracks. But also sometime's the first (say 4) tracks are doing fine and than number 5 give's the error. When i press stop and wish to play number 5 again than it still wont play.

I like to say that there was a time that those cd's did work. So it are not never tried cd.

Peter

First i like to say that u13 sounds just great overhere. Specially the bass!
Leaving q1 at -2 and changing to schema does the trick also like Edward sayd. But a bit different.  No appointment, schema 1, schema 2 dont give problems. Schema 3 and 4 does.

I allready have the 1 euro ready to send!  rofl

Peter,

Sinds the new driver of my EMU makes that i cannot double anymore i have a question. In the Settings area of XX i can find 44.1/48/96.192

In the settings from my EMU i can find these. But I can also click 88.2 wich i cannot find in XX.

Why is that or is that someting that will be added?

Peter and all,

The problems are gone over here... I have set q1 on -2 for a few weeks.... Today i moved it a bit upwards (0)  and the cracks and hickups are gone.... Happy  too much !

Maybe something for Edward to try.....

Peter,

I tried... I loaded in 1 cd... But going from playlist to library is enough for bringing up the cracks. Also this came up the first time. And only 2 cd's show up in the library area.
