886  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Other settings with EMU1212m? on: February 17, 2008, 10:03:57 pm
(but it's a rather OK and affordable 192/24 card ...)

Well for now i have to deal with it... unhappy And it really does not sound anoying....  Happy

With 192/24 you mean that i can set the setting in XX  other than 16/44?

Because when i do that i get error messages like the "rest" posted...

 Happy

EDIT: When i do it like this 24/192 and do not check one of the below two boxes ( 24 bits not tested and 32 most often) it works and play's.... Is this the best thing/way to go? And can i  leave it always like this?

And why in your case you are satisfied with 16/44? You are be able to set it to more bits?
887  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Other settings with EMU1212m? on: February 17, 2008, 09:24:48 pm
Peter   Happy

If i am correct you once had a Emu.... I do not have any notion of bits and bytes and do not understand the EMU mixer so i was wondering if you know if there are other settings possible with that card... When not i wait peacefully until somewhere a nice DAC passes my path.....  Grin rofl rofl

888  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: How .9u Sounds on: February 17, 2008, 01:39:18 pm
actually somehow it doesn't matter anymore how loud things play.

Yes this is what i forget to write.... When before you need to open up the volume to hear everything. (Clarity) Now even at low volume clarity is (more) there...  very happy

Peter,

Thanxxxxxxxx again  Happy This really sounds fantastic!! Man what a magician you are!! thankyou sounds good !

The moment i began to play the first thing that crossed my mind was that it indeed sound different. Like you told us before. It really needs a moment to get use to the differences.... But nothing more than a moment.. Grin
The second thing was that it somehow sounded a bit "Warmer". But not to much.....
The thing i also nodiced was that there is peace in the room. Music and the room where it is played in, are now two separate things....

All 'n All everything falls into place.......

Thank you very much! Happy

They have much better integrated  security features. I also think they have a much nicer UI.

MediaMonkey:
What kind of jitter reduction is that supposed to be? The only time you'll get jitter on the CD is while
you record it or if you do realtime playback from CD.
There is no jitter involved while you write the data to a file.

Cheers

Well i think they mixed up a few things and named it wrong... When EAC found a bad spot on a cd they find it also but than they say that they found several Jitter mistakes and that probably the audio data is damaged.

Hi folks.
A program I actually prefer over EAC is dbpoweramp.
Klaus

Hi Klaus,

Why do you prefer this?  Happy

And i would like to say that the new Mediamonkey has a rip possibility with a Jitter correction function ( Whatever they mean by that? ).

Gerard, no ... I guess I tried to be funny.
So yes, I think everybody can hear it. You can always try to explain what you hear, and nobody will make fun of it (not like my before post, which just proves wrong taste). If you don't hear it, you just say nothing. Okay ?

But remember some 6 months ago, when you proved to hear things which were right on spot !

hahaha Tongue Ok good that you said it was funny meant... Because of my bad English reading Rules i did not understand and thought it was abacadabra writing   Grin Like you do so now and than... Happy

Good to see you are in a good mood.... That means things work out the good way!!  unsure

I will see what i can make of it!....

So, indeed it might be better not to tell at first what happened, and it would be great (well, for me anyway) if I could explain what happened *after* a few of you who can "hear" the idea about this, tell what they think "functionally" happened (and I know, if you know what happened you can just hear that back). This has a major advantage too : no placebo effects possible. And mind you, this is important when someone applies "technology" which is completely new.

Peter,

With the upcoming 0.9u is there a difference in SQ between people who already have a dac in there system and people like "me" who does not have a dac?  whistle Meaning is the advantage bigger or less with or without.

I hope so. I recently got a Plextor Premium 2 and I can say that it is good.
It burns CD with less Jitter. But I sadly can't proof if it is very good at ripping. I just ripped my CD collection again with it. But I've no tool to verify my wavs.
So can't answer it.
I mainly got it to burn nice CDs with MFSL Ultradiscs and AMQR and all those things this draive supports.

Ok... Happy

I will remember that.... And ask you again when i am ready for it....

Thanx... Happy

Peter,

(If i remember correctly) there was a day that you wrote .. That there could be 100 things that can and will go wrong even ripping with EAC. (cannot find the post  at the moment)

Why than use EAC and not b.v. MediaMonkey... ?  Meaning that long reading in EAC wil result in glitches but when i do it in MM it wil not give these glitches.  And when i have a "bad" cd now i don't rip it further.

Grtzzz

899  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: The SQ of XXHighEnd Unregistered on: February 12, 2008, 10:22:57 am
Hi Peter,

Sorry but I don't know all the terms/lingo you use in regard to your XX program yet. That leave me and probably a few others confused as to the Sound Quality of the unregistered version.

Let me rephrase the question.  What are your plans for futures versions? Is the SQ of the Demo mode going to be the same as when Registered? And if so in what version?
If this is technical challenge then maybe you can make a Registraion Key that only works for 1 minute at a time or something like that. That way we can all be Registered when doing a demo.

I am hot to try it and see for myself, but not ready to pay money. Which is probaby the same as 90% of the people who want to try it.

Hello Brent,

A part i can answer also.... Peter meant that when you play Unattended the SQ is the same like the one we  have... When you open up XX and look at the bottom/right (Playlist area)  you see Unattended... Just check that and you will have the "best" way to test it. And the SQ is the same way we have and it is the best SQ XX has...

This could be helpfull too..
