316  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / 0.9z-7-5 display problem on: November 25, 2012, 01:20:50 pm
Hi Peter,

I was attempting to adjust the screen of XXHE for the IPad & suddenly I found that the entire top left screen, above the cover art has gone blank, except for the vol slider & the min OS button. The Arc Predict, Peak extend, phase etc, etc have just disappeared. Any suggestions how to recover the screen?

Have tried rebooting but it doesnt help.

Best regards,

Arvind
317  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Still some ticks with 0.9z-7-5 on: November 22, 2012, 12:12:20 pm
Hi Arvind,

You said "after 15/20 minutes";
Can you try to find some (classical) piece which lasts 30 minutes or longer, or anyway which can tell you whether these series of ticks indeed happen at the track boundary ?
Notice that testing with 10 minutes or so may not incur for "proper results". So, longer than your said 20 minutes will. Thus, *or* the ticks now will happen after this longer track has been played (a next one coming behind it), or it's still at your 15/20 minutes. The result may tell me something.

Important : Do notice that you are not in Minimized OS Mode (derived form the other topic), so I am not sure whether this all isn't a moot thing in the first place (read : better solve that first !).

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

After min OS the situation has changed significantly. I have changed to 60 SFS with SFS round =1. Now I get one tick within a min at the start of the first track, none after that. The series of ticks after 15/20 mins has disappeared. At stop playback there is a LF thump but the intensity is much lower than earlier.

Best regards,

Arvind

Hi Arvind, that is great.

But do you mean that my presented procedure actually worked ?

Peter

Hi Peter,

Oh yes the 3 times rebooting worked fine.

Arvind

That is correct Arvind.
I'm afraid it won't help, but it is worth a try. If it doesn't help, don't forget to send me this email.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

It worked out, now I am on min OS. Thanks.

Arvind,

If the button is red at this moment, use it to boot into Normal Mode. After that, reboot three times in normal fashion (StartButton - Restart etc.).
Then use the (now blue) button in XXHighEnd again.

Didn't help ? then you too (like I just told in the other topic) can send be an email which explains to me how you can tell that you are Activated properly. And from there we will proceed.

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

If I understand you correctly, I am on red now, I click it to normal mode (blue LED), reboot the PC three times, click on min OS convert it to red & reboot again. Then check if I am actually on Min mode.

Arvind

Firstly there is still a loud tick within the first 10/15 secs.

What Praphan said.

Quote
Secondly after 15/20 mins of playback there are a series of ticks for about half a second.

Seems a typicle case of trackboundary and something being too slow. BUT, maybe your logging is on. This is sure not advisable for the lower SFS range !

Thirdly there is a loud LF thump at clicking stop.

Is your Q1 still at 14 (like your sug tells) ? That, with Q1F at 1 and DevBufSize of 4096 should be okay for the NOS1.
Also, it depends a bit on how you experience the "thump". So, it is very low frequency if all is right. Could even shake your doors. But with Q1 (etc.) too low, it will be more towards higher frequency up to a louder tick.
But otherwise it is completely normal or at least unavoidable at the lower SFS settings.
And of course the "Intensitity" plays a role. So, the higher that is, the more firm the effect. Volume level the same.

I hope this helps somewhat ...
Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter/Praphan,

SFS rounds is set to 9, which is the max.

Logging is switched off but the series of ticks continue.

Hi Peter,

It would be interesting to know how one can actually determine if  the OS has minimised, other than the red led on the Min OS button.

Best regards,

Arvind

1. Check the authenticity of Window licence. Go to Window activation page by clicking Start , right clicking Computer, clicking Properties. At the lower pane, the system will tell you that your Window is not activated or illegal version.

2. Try using some W7 tools say Disk Management. Click Start, Search Disk Management in the search box. You will not be able to launch this tool.

Hope this help.

Hi Praphan,

If these are the indication to determine if the OS is Min, then in my case it is certainly not minimised inspite of the LED being red. How do I get it to min?

Best regards,

Arvind

Hi Peter,

SFS =2 gives the best SQ in my set up. However it is accompanied with some problems.

Firstly there is still a loud tick within the first 10/15 secs. Secondly after 15/20 mins of playback there are a series of ticks for about half a second. Thirdly there is a loud LF thump at clicking stop.

326  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: z7-4 Sound Quality on: September 27, 2012, 08:36:56 am
Hi Peter,

The SQ in this version is certainly better, especially in the mid range, but only at SFS of 2, not so much at SFS of 60. Unfortunately SFS of 2 has other problems (mentioned in other post)

Arvind
327  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / 0.9z-7-4 last buffer doesn't stop playing on: September 27, 2012, 08:27:12 am
Hi Peter,

At SFS of 2 when I stop playback the last buffer data keeps repeating & doesn't stop. At SFS of 60 there is no problem.

328  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 0.9z-7-3 Sample Rate not set on: September 16, 2012, 12:39:32 pm
Hi Peter,

It seems that the root cause of both the problems were due to "Start Playback during Conversion" being activated (i guess accidentely/unknowingly). Now having deactivated it everything is solved. Sorry for the trouble.

Gerard maybe you need to look at this too. Hope this solution works for you too.

Best regards,

Arvind

Hi Peter,

Incude Garbage Collect is deactivated. If activated there is no playback.
