Joachim, that is 2.05 ...

Hi Peter,

yes,the pictures are from ......... and the settings are the same in 2.06.
I copied the upgrade files into the 2.xx folder just right again and 2.06 in red letters appears and 28 cores are showing. Same result ""& engine3 do not start""

Hi Peter,

using W10 - 10586.0 on the HDD "nonloading" of music files straight from the beginning. One core is working for a very short time, and then "nada".

Please see the two pics attached, nothing unusual, see the profile too.

Meanwhile tell me whether you have "Use Touch Facilities" active (Settings, Services and OSD section) because that really matters to this regard. So notice that With Touch Facilities you do not need to use Ctrl to select a next Item (and that without Touch Facilies and not using Ctrl a previously selected Item gets unselected).

Hi,

ok, will note the settings for your information soon (of my plain system without a server PC).

Going back to 2.05 everything works normal with my settings again.

Joachim,

I hope I sufficiently warned (throughout the past year) what a mess W10 is. And that I kind of predicted that such a thing (upgrading etc.) just will fail. In the end it is only about having some kind of formal standpoint that you tried but could not do it. For me that would be good enough. But that is me - this may not count for everybody. Anyway ... please forget me helping with such a thing because you (seriously !) are 100 times more experienced with it than I am. My audio PC never saw an internet cable - you know it. Happy

Peter

Hi Peter,

ok, made some screen shots if MS is knocking on my door. But will try another route.

An open answer is for me, what will happen with RAM OS W10-10586 without activation after a certain time. Shuting down services? Reading your comments, nothing will happen. If so, nice.

Hi,

W7 is activated on this PC with a separate HDD

got the following problem with the XEON E5-2620v2.

W10 upgrade says:

- Windows 10 will not function on this PC.

 - W10 does not support this CPU (NX)

The point is:
this PC has been accepted by MS but the upgrade failed.

Acc. to item 5) this status (upgrade accepted by MS) should be ok

or

install W10 with the 10586 CD copied from MS a couple of month ago.

OK, first I will shut down the W7 HDD and exchange to the RAM OS and see what W10 says. At present RAM OS W10 urges for an activation.

What only from very recently coincides is the story of Joachim, but this is not know to you. Actually to me myself it is a bit of "interpretation at the distance" of what happened over in Finland, but of what he told me (which is not necessarily the 100% truth, haha) he was able to have a sort of melt down of his PC, fed by the same 100W HDPlex (but with different ATX module). What I get of it, is that the unit got warmer and warmer, until something went "over" and the PC suffered (it did not break).

Hi Peter,

The stuttering of the music happens with the OS was not in MinOS. (In MinOS no stuttering of the music) So, when changing the status of the OS's the system was not stable. (LPS power too low)

Sent you this pm in May.

He, he Peter,

Ok, a confusion created from my side.

Will clarify my situation with the PicoPSU 160Watts + HDPlex 100Watt LPS.

A)   The 12V LPS power is connected  to socket 1 + 8 (see PDF attached)
B)   No 4Pin power connection for the PCIe cards

C)   In the Bios the LAN controller is disabled, same with USB3
D)   Power consumption during normal operation ~ 88 – 90Watts.
E)   Power consumption after enabling the LAN controller (necessary for RDC)  increases of ~2 Watts
F)   Power consumption increases up to 98 Watts after disabling XXH MinOS, so OS is back with all processes and music begins to stutter (with 8x ArcPrediction).
The HDPlex 100Watt LPS limit is reached.
G)   The temperature of the HdPlex 100Watt LPS was constant with appr. 48 – 50°C.
H)   Side note: Using the HDPlex with the laptop the housing was “handwarm” only.
I)   The temp of the CPU cooler (below the running fan) was ~ 38°C
J)   The temp of the cooler rips of the graphic card has been ~40°C

K)   Changing back to the BeQiet PSU the power consumption drops to ~51 Watts. I think, an 8Pin connection to the power socket 1 on the mobo is necessary using a LPS.
L)   The ASUS graphic card “eats” ~ 23 Watts and after dismounting we are at your ~ 30 Watts for the whole PC operating with an RDC configuration.

I’m “snoopy” about your LPS design + price.

What worries me, was the change of the soundstage, just like a Mono replay with my “LPS configuration” .

Hi Joachim,

I have very explicitly told that this LPS will not be sold separately. IIRC you asked the question an hour after I told so and why.

Sorry !

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

sorry, never saw this info, but now I know. Thanx.

Hi Peter,

still an unanswered question.

Price for the LPS to be implemented in the Phasure PC MK I?

Thanx

Hey Joachim,

I never used a volume control with the NOS1(a) in my life.
Of course I am going to for this project, soon, but I am not going to attempt serious listening through any volume control anyway. I will measure though (and we will see later that this tells enough).

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

my experience in other words:

A) playing muisc without a preamp (since 2 years) the XXH VC setting is between -27dB and -36dB depended on the present prefered SPL .

B) Using a pre amp the XXH VC setting was -6dB then, and with that setting the SQ was superior to A) - I remember that Coen wrote about this impression too.

It seems there are SQ differences within XXH with different volume settings.

Volume control with B’ASS

Hi Peter,

remembering my „pre amp“ times, the SQ was superior with a
XXH volume setting of -6db.

Question:
A) your prefered XXH volume setting is where with the B’ASS? (without VC)
B) did you perform comparisions with a B’ASS “volume control”,  setting XXH “VC” to appr. -6dB and your present XXH setting.

Hi Peter,

nice design. Happy

The open question is this LPS with the previous Phasure PC compatible.

I think/hope the LPS should work with the older X79 mobo too. The max TDP of the Xeon 2640v4  is 90 W, and that is a higher rate than the 80W of the Xeon E5-2620v2.

Price?

Thanx
Joachim
