Hello,

I read a review about a turntable battery PSU in a German HiFi paper today. The shop price is € 1700,00. A similar unit should be possible to built for a NOS1?!?
The Dartzeel preamp has a built in battery banque and an external PSU too, and the difference of the SQ is relavant.

http://clearaudio.de/en/products/electronics-accu_drive.php

The PDF shows an open PSU housing.

But despite all the positive things mentioned above, there was a slight lack in bass quantity compared to what I am used to having in my system. Moreover, there was a veil to the overall presentation. The clarity and transparency was not quite there.
Hi Daniel,

congratulation for your system. These components are well known to be “very fast” and for its micro- and macrodynamic capabilities.

I was a little bit astonished to read that the Q5 (http://www.stereophile.com/content/magico-q5-loudspeaker-page-4) produces more bass than the Orelo MKII, because I felt that the bass in Peters room was exceptional (in the year 2010).

Your opinion confirms that the acoustic of a room has a major influence of an audio presentation.

Kind regards
Joachim

It would be interesting to get some Details about Daniels audio system.

The most sensitive region of our ears are from 1,000 to 5,000 Hz.
What does it tell us for music reproduction?

The song „Nublado“ by Sera Una Noche (track 6)  ( http://www.allmusic.com/album/sera-una-noche-mw0000091863 ) was played at all Highend shows around the clock this year, and you can’t believe what you hear when you listen to this horn system.

The AKG K-1000 headphones is one of the best money can buy, and the design is more a "near field monitor" (panels are rotatable/to tilt).

Maybe Mani is listening to his speakers in a near field position.

Otherwise headphones and speakers (with the influence of the listening room) are two different worlds.

Hi,

I remember that someone of our English “tweak department” is using ENACOMs (****) from Harmonix. (www.combak.net)

I got the chance to lay my hands on a pair of “speaker ENACOMs” (second hand for € 70,00).
This devices are astonishing, they are removing the sharpness of extreme highs without degrading the information.

Edit: (****) Sorry, it are ByBees!

Hi,

There are differences in the filter 16xAP (from release "e" to "i").

In release "i" the upper mids and highs are little bit more accentuated, what I prefer.

Hi Mani, I share your feelings and I also congratulate Germany for the excellent way to play.

I would like however be a bit critical. We should also be aware that the excessive frustration and excitement we're seeing is something to worry about. It may seem easy to position myself so, now that Spain is out of the competition, but seeing the riots caused by the defeat in Brazil and the way we also are engaged in a common project that does not solve any of our problems, is also frustrating. Brazil is a country with many real problems and to lose or win the World Cup do not solve it.
Soccer is a sport and not a way to manipulate people (it should not be, I mean).

Kind regards,
Juan

P.S. Good luck to the Dutch fellows tonight

Hi Juan,

nice writing. This is big business for the FIFA only.
South Africa has problems to use some of the football arenas today, and Brasil will face the same.

Who is to blame for? The politicians!!! They are "fighting" for prestigious events (Russia etc.) and have to invest a hell of money into the infrastructure according to the FIFA specs.
And afterwards the FIFA  will make profit in Billion of Dollars and the "lower class" people are starving. (South Africa, Brasil and Russia) The Olympic Winter Games in Russia this year costs more than 25 Billion Dollars. Crazy!!!!

----------------------------

Now it is Hollands turn to complete a European final. Van Gaal will look for it, I'm sure.  yes

I'm sure that Peters stock in fluids is big enough to celebrate ...... !

Germany 9 first half strikes for 5 goals...wow

When it was 6-0 and and one of the Germans just missed the goal bij millimetres the commentary said "Look, now he is behaving like a gentleman." "Or wasn't that on purpose after all ?" he said later after seeing the repeat.

I played handball for more than 20 years, and the worst thing is to be commiserated (bemitleidet werden). I better loose 0:10 than .......... .

Such games happens once within 100 years only, and what can you buy for it at present? Nothing, except you are at least the second in the tournament for 100%.

Oh boy. Yes, I recall that now. This is a bug I solved by now here. But the effect of this seems other than you describe.

So now I must look in the program what I actually solved and whether you (we) actually activate something after all because of, well, what you describe.
I will do this tomorrow.

Thank you Brian.
Peter

Since hours I'm playing 16xAP (no Custom) with version "i", and a seamless switch to 8xAP is possible (on my computer system).
and the driver panel shows 176.400

Joachim

Edit: Forwards and backwards, and the driver panels follows accordingly
450  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: New Filter request(s) on: July 08, 2014, 01:33:10 pm
Interesting, I had two folks from the Philadelphia Area Audio

Another thing, maybe its my imagination, but standard AP sounds different to me in 186a than in 186i. Seems like there is an active filter in 186i when AP is ticked instead of Custom, when plying at 8x oversampling.

Hi Brian,

I  received a rev. "e" with the upgrage to the NOS1a and I have "acoustic hallucinations" that this revision is superoir to "i". Strange, because the 16xAP filter has not been changed.
So, it's time for a Wodka with Coke and ice (less headaches)
