91  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Unicode titles do not play in XXHightEnd 0.9-y4 on: November 20, 2009, 04:58:27 pm
Dea rPeter,
No this is not related to button operations. Simply, particular tracks do not play at all, and this is always, no matter what you do. I copied a few tracks names to a unicode file, which is attached.
Best regards.

Hi Peter,

can you please direct me to the place in this forum where I can read more about an idea and functionality of unattended playback and AutoHotkey ? I have OrigenAE T21 and manufacturer provided MCE remote and built in IR receiver. Trying to make this remote operational with XXHighEnd. I am little bit lost in finding the right information on forum.
Best regards !

Dear Peter,

I know there are much more urgent things to do, and do not treat my posts as just "my wish", you can treat this as a "small" contribution to the development ideas. I will be happy with the program without those features. In fact I am sure this is the best playback software by a WIDEEEE margin. And you know it. I just wanted it some better in the way I am accustomed to.

Best regards

Hi Peter,
just checked that the error with unicode track happens always in the following situation.

1. You have a CD that contains such tracks, my example is :
Eiji Oue, Casa Guidi, Reference Recordings CD

2. You add the whole CD to the playlist area

3. You play the 6th tracks - it contains some French characters

4. You ship to the next one (Nt button)

5. You receive the screen below:

6. You click OK, then you see another screen:

Is this a problem with DOS8.3 ?

Best regards

Dear Peter,

I have checked and, I think I am just a "little, little bit" right. I think you can admit that it is not possible to play any CD without putting it into playlist area. The playlist acts like a container from where you play. If you want to listen to a few CD, you first add one, than another and another. They are added on top of each other. This is like you put the next CD into the tray of CD Player without removing the first one. So when you click play adding second CD, first track of first cd is played. So, you have to go into the playlist, multiselect the tracks you want to remove and right click remove or clear the whole playlist area by clicking CLEAR button. There is also a small bug - you can add the same CD several times to the playlist area and the tracks are multiplicated.

I think, there might be several options to consider to make it easier (2nd proposition below is the best in my opinion).

1. The checkbox functionality - I am not sure how does it actually work, but it might work in such a way that when you select a checkbox, the tracks are copied to playlist, when you unselect, they are removed. Just one click on the checkbox changes the presence of a CD in the playlist area.

2. Create another "handy" playlist area below of library pane (divide the library window horizotaly). This playlist will contain ONLY one CD actually selected by ONE click of a mouse. The tracks will not be copied to the playlist on another pane. Then if you focus to this small playlist and select the track - it would play. This would be very easy to operate. You select the CD on the library pane, below the tracks are copied as a list. First track is selected by default. You click play and it is played from this pane. If you display PLAYLIST are on another pane, and select the track from there - then this will be the source of playback.

What do you think about it ? Do you like this idea ?
Best regards
Jarek

98  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Buttons might be a bit larger on: November 15, 2009, 11:00:02 pm
I am sorry for so many ideas, but I think that the navigation buttons in the left upper corner are too small in some occasions. Especialy when you have small touch panel screen (I have 12 inch) in hi-res (1280 x 800), you simply cannot locate the button. Another idea to make XXHighEnd easier to operate... What do you think about it ?
99  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Playback functionality improvement on: November 15, 2009, 10:54:15 pm
I know this is not easy to do, but let's imagine how nice it would be if you could play a track of any CD or a whole CD without creating a playlist first. Playlists are nice to select particular tracks from different CDs, but this is time consuming process. In everyday life you want just to select a CD and play it. Maybe it is possible to plan such kind of BIG improvement - playing any CD or any track just by selecting the track in directory, without creating any playlist first. Just an idea....
100  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / MCE remote control ??? on: November 15, 2009, 10:48:02 pm
Hi, I have an idea, which may help some lazy guys like me to have more fun. The Vista and Win7 have support for MCE remote control. It would be nice to have the remote working with XXHighEnd. The program has to be aware about presence of MCE remote and react to play, stop, next, pause, etc. ... This is nice feature, and should not be difficult to do, everybody will appreciate such kind of feature. Maybe you can foresee this in the next release ?
101  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Unicode titles do not play in XXHightEnd 0.9-y4 on: November 15, 2009, 10:42:25 pm
Dear Peter,
I have Vista Ultimate SP1 in default setup and use Engine3, and the issue appears when I have a CD that has some non english characters in the track names. I will check exactly this issue if you are unsure about this problem so far. The track names are given automaticly during CD riping proces. Please try such characters like : æ, œ ... When you try to play the tack from the playlist, you will likely receive an error.
102  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Unicode titles do not play in XXHightEnd 0.9-y4 on: November 14, 2009, 04:54:13 pm
I have tested, that most of unicode named tracks (eg. French) do not play. I receive an error when trying to play such track. Error is cleared when I rename the track so that only latin letters are used for the track name.
103  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Color schema issue on: November 14, 2009, 04:50:39 pm
Hi, some people would prefer to customize Operating System color schema to the darker one, to have more mild look when listening at night. Not all colors are derived from the OS settings color schema to XXHighEnd windows, some backgrounds still remain white. Can you please fix this and derrive all HHHighEnd colors from OS settings ?
