try to "see" whether more than 2 cores are used heavily.
The AMD is a two core processor.
Quote
did you try flipping the setting "Not Switch (cores) during Playback" ?
I did test it in the beginning but it gives a lot of stuttering in the sound so i switched it off.

For this test I switched on "Not Switch (cores) during Playback" again to find out if i can make screenshots. Find included two CPU graphs in the attechments.
Screen 1 was with a lot of stuttering in the sound. After i set Q5=2 i had a stutterless sound. (screenshot 2)

When Q3,4,5 = 0,2,2 and "Not Switch (cores) during Playback" is on, Alt-X is functioning again in unattended playback mode without stuttering. A mouse-movement gives the screen back

What about the CPU usage?

Better do this with Q3,4,5 = 2,1,1 to have a chance in the first place.
Indeed no respons from the taskmanager. Same for Q3,4,5 = 0,2,1 and Q3,4,5 = 0,0,1
The first CPU graph i can get is from Q3,4,5 = 0,0,2 (i don't know if you want to see this graph)

I changed Q3=2 that makes no difference. I set Q3=1 and change Q4=2 then alt-X and mouse movement give the screen back and the control over xxhe. It takes a lot of time to get a complete screen back. By the way when i changed Q4=2, I get a message that Q3 must be 0 because Q4 is not 1!? So you can only change Q3 when Q4=1. Is there another way to get a faster response?

Hi Peter,
Alt-x does not work anymore while in unattended playback. Even no reaction when i move the mouse or keyboard. After finishing the play back i see a message: "Error setting the wallpaper: A generic eror occured in GDI+"
Any solution?

Best regards

Btw, (un)install all drivers in Normal OS Mode !
This was the first thing i did wrong. I did the (un)install in minimum OS. I switched back to normal mode and did the (un)install.
Quote
Win7 does not natively support USB3, you need drivers for w7 to be able to use a USB3 card,....
I did use the Win 7 drivers
Quote
Note that Paul Pang links to a win7 driver and a win8 driver for his card which is actually the driver for the NEC chipset on the USB card which may well be the same chipset as is on your normal USB3 card.
Yes, I think they are the same. I did use the Win 7 driver.
Quote
Uninstall the NEC driver again, uninstall the Paul Pang Driver, reinstall the NEC driver.
I did! Only a harddisk is functioning ok. Except XXHE gives a reboot after a play command.
Quote
I am not sure whether uninstalling/reinstalling the NOS1 driver at the very end can help.
I did a (un)reinstall. When I start the NOS1 Driver Control Panel, it gives direct a system reboot.
Quote
what about just reverting to that Restore Point ?
I can't find a restore point before the deinstallation of the drivers.

I'll give up! Old

I was thinking to buy a new motherboard and a i5 processor. I think it's time to replace the old machine. Peter shall I use Windows 8 or do I need to wait for ....?????

Thanks Anthony and Peter,

Best Regards,
Johan
128  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Windows 7: PC automatically reboots after play command in XXHE on: December 03, 2013, 08:45:22 am
Hi Peter,

Last weekend I received Paul Pang USB Audio Grade PCie card. I was already using the normal USB3 PCie card(NEC). I did a de-installation of the ‘old’  USB3 PCIe card driver(NEC) and installed the driver advised for the Audio Grade PCie card(inclusive 5V via Molex plug). When starting XXHE no sound. The NOS1 Driver Control Panel shows no information. So I switched back to the normal USB3 PCie card. I did a new install for the driver. NOS1 Driver Control Panel shows information. It looks like all starts working again. Connecting harddisk etc. But every time after a play command in XXHE, just after the screen changes to black (unattended), the system reboots automatically. When I switched back to the AudioPC standard USB2 port all functioning again. XXHE is working ok… and sound from the NOS1. What steps do I need to take to work with the USB3 PCIe card again?

Best Regards

129  Ultimate Audio Playback / Chatter and forum related stuff / Navigation problem ipad 2 after ios7 upgrade? on: September 30, 2013, 09:49:04 pm
Hi Peter,
I have the feeling that i have a navigation problem on your site with my ipad2 after the ios7 upgrade. I.e. Go to the release notes of the last version of xxhe on your site and move your thump down or up to scroll. Sometimes the screen does not move. I have seen this now a couple of times. Its on specific places, i think. Known problem? Site update....
Best regards,
Johan

do you mean that you went back to a previously saved .XXSI file ?
No. I tried to changed the Q values manually without any effect on this error message.

Quote
....went back to a previously saved .XXSI file ? If so, try to find an old one from a previous XXHighEnd version
Indeed this fixes the problem. Thanks! I'm back in the latest version of XXHE. Is there a explanation what damaged the original .XXSI files?

Hi Peter,

I normally use Q1= 30 and Q1Factor=10. I changed it to Q1=14 and Q1Factor=1, but no effect on this message.

133  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Win7: failed to set sample rate on: July 02, 2013, 11:21:50 pm
I'm using 09z-9b

This evening i was playing with all kind of settings. When i went back to the original setting xxhe did not start caused by a message. I did a restart, rebooting nothing works. Every time after the play command i get "failed to set sample rate" . When i accept this message i get a new message "xxengine3.exe has stopped working". I'm lost. This for me the first time that i cant fix it...grrrrr
Starting the previous version, that works. Help!

Go to Normal OS Mode ... then attempt to boot into Minimized, and *then* there should be a message.
When i select "minimize os" the system makes a restore point and after that the message "reboot for minimizing os?". After a <yes> i get a message "monitoring is going to sleep". Nothing happens anymore. When i'm moving the mouse, the screen came alive with XX still in Normal mode and the following message appears:
