Anyway, the disk acticity is from the "XX drive".

Did You mean the drive where XX is installed? This is an internal 2,5" drive, a very quiet one you can't hear!
The sound i hear is coming from the external drives!

Switching the external disks off gives a tilde (~) in the album and track name of the Wallpaper.

Solved indeed in 09y-4! When I switched the external drives off, all music keeps playing and no tilde (~) problem.

But. prankster wacko......during playback I hear sometimes several times disk activities. Lets say every 30 seconds for a couple of seconds. Resulting in stuttering sound! In version 09y-3 it was less irritating. How can I check what caused these diskactivities?
I have switched off a lot of services as suggested on this site in an attemp to stop these diskactivities.
Some XX settings:
ticked "Copy to XX Drive
Arc Prediction Quad upsampling

Took CD and ripped one track to hard drive using EAC in .flac format

Why a conversion to a compressed format (i know lossless but ..) and not simple to .wav? EAC setting ok?

....still finding CD sounding much better than XXHE
Time to introduce new functionality in XX: real time cd play - and ripping functionality.

Is it about the "one click" or is it about the "4 hours (etc.)" ?
One click to load the playlist with 4 hour of music.

The one track for each album is in there (you know that, do you ?).
No!  no How many clicks to get 4 hours of music in the playlist with this function?
350  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Random load function for the playlist on: September 17, 2009, 01:18:46 pm
Peter,

Is it possible to implement a random load function with one mouse click. Depending where you are standing in the gallery, XX will automatically load random tracks from the different styles/record in the playlist with one mouse click. When you are in the main directory of the Gallary then tracks from all styles are loaded in the playlist. One track for each album. When you are in Gallery/Jazz, then only a random load of jazz tracks. In Gallery/Jazz/(Albums) only......... Whith a (selectable) maximum load in the playlist of 1,2,3,4 hours of music.

Can you add maximum tracks, so I can see from a distance how far to go.

I'll hope you introduce the maximum tracknumber in the track title of the OSD text. I don't memorize the maximum tracks of an album (even after loading the playlist) When i switched "the back" off i still want to know the maximum tracks. With the fontsize of OSD Text i can see it from a distance of 4 meters.

Are you 100% sure the disks don't spin up throughout an album ? If so, I guess I'll leave it to that ...

Unfortunately the problem is still present. During playback i can still hearing the external disk spin up! (Using the settings Copy to XX-Drive (internal drive)) I have the impression that spinup/down sound of the external drive starts after a couple of tracks.

Switching the power off from the external drive after the first track has started in XX, then from the second track to the end i get that tilde problem in the album and track name of the Wallpaper. Music keeps playing. External drives are connected via esata .

The following artists names DO cause problems:........
Same here for :

J.J.Cale
Selection in the directory structure of the gallery don't give the album information in the middle pane!

Sometimes at the start of first track (in unattended mode) the OSD Text is not shown. At the start of the second track the text is shown normally till the end of the playlist.

This morning i have noticed the following after a play command (unattended mode) :
1 XX disappears to the background;
2 on windows wallpaper OSD text where presented;
3 XX Wallpaper came up (overwrites OSD text);
4 when second track starts, all works ok.

Switching the disks off gives a tilde (~) in the album and track name of the Wallpaper. Switching the disks on solves this tilde (~) problem. See attachment

I have the impression that the disks didn't start every track again...So problem solved....

After starting XX and selecting the last track of a album in unattended mode, then every new album starts with that first track.Closing and starting XX then all plays OK! Same behaviour in attended mode.

Forgot to set the Autohotkey shortcut property to administrator. This solves that "No right..." error with Alt X.
359  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Version 0.9y-1 feedback on: August 13, 2009, 02:07:36 am
Alt X command gives following error (same in 09y): see attachment

Finishing after the last track in unattended mode, reset the wallpaper (back to windows)
In version 09y-1 it's the same behaviour in unattended mode. After finishing the last track, you bring XX back on the screen. The background contains still the wallpaper. It needs a stop command to to reset this background. Better to reset the bachground automaticaly when you bring XX back to the screen.

Indeed in attended mode it works correct you can switch it off via that new parameter "Coverart: At attended".
