its a setting " show as wallpaper" untick this

I thought this was only working for unattended mode. 95 percent of the time I'm playing in unattended mode. I don't want to untick every time for attended mode this tickbox. I think this setting should only work for unattende mode.....i think?! What is the purpose to show this wallpaper in attended mode?
377  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Changing Wallpaper in attended mode playback on: May 30, 2009, 09:01:41 pm
Hi Peter,

Why do You change the Wallpaper in attended mode? Better to keep the windows background I think!
Sometimes for testing purposes I want to play in attended mode.

....My Gallery size is up to almost 20GB .... and I haven't even organized everything onto galleries yet.  I imagine that when I do that this summer, the gallery folder on the SSD could easily top 40GB ...

Hi Peter,
There must be another way to add all the coverart to the Gallery (I hope). I am thinking to buy a SSD memory. So 32 GB SSD becomes 64, ...128..... All the music with coverart is on the external drives. I suppose for browsing purposes you put the coverart in the Gallery but...Is it possible to make thumpnails of this CoverArt to reduce the size of the Gallery. 40GB of Gallery size....how many records are that ????

..Using xxhe, as in loading audio files and pictures and to get in unattended and
restore services and stuff like that....

SSD as only internal drive for OS, Gallary, EAC,.. Can I use in a dedicated HTPC configuration a 30 GB SSD? Or better to go for the 60GB version?  What are the future developments of XXHE, gygabyte related?

Might it help, I have set that setting to 100, and I never see any problem.

Changing "Split File setting" to 100 solves the problems for me too!
381  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Out of Memory Exception (09x-7) on: April 15, 2009, 07:34:08 pm
Last weekend I bought two E.S.T (Esbjörn Svensson Trio) cd's "Live in Hamburg" & "Leucocite" great Swedisch jazz band. Just before the 17 /18 minutes track starts I get a Out of Memory Exception message and the sound stops. I saw the progression indicator was running.

I also did another test with Steve Khan album with a 18 minutes track. See attachment 4

Observation: When playing the two tracks mentioned, when at number one, I tried to add another, e.g. third track to the list.
After loading 2 track via the Library button and during playback the third one. Progression indicator starts to fast (without sound) at the and of track one the progression indicator is in the second track. When the progression indicator is at the end of the third track the music suddenly stops!!  Conclusion the progression indicator is 5-7 seconds faster then the sound. And when the indicator is at the end XX skips the last piece of the last song in the playlist.

Loading an album in the playlist area and give a play command in attended mode.

What i see is the start of the progression indicator without sound for a couple of seconds. When the progression indicator reaches the end of the first track i hear the music still playing. The progression indicator start at the beginning of the second track while the first track is still playing. I can see that behaviour also in the playlist area. The second track is highlighted while XX plays the end of the first track.

But no skip of tracks. (Yes i know i have loaded a complete album. I will do the test for two tracks)

So what you just pointed out is that the CoverArt is ok, but not the music file itself.

I had the impression that the music is ok because it all plays from the internal drive but the coverart needs every track the external drive. When switched off the wallpaper don't get an update anymore...but you are the designer so..

Can it be that you were playing a Saved Playlist here ?
I don't use that

And XXHighEnd is not installed on that I: drive I guess ?
Drive D: (internal drive). It has tree partitions c:,d: & e:

You might post the XX log file ...
See Attachment

and then ticking "Copy to XX-Drive" is too late I think.
This is a default setting for me.

All should point to C:\ or wherever XXHighEnd is running
D:/ in my case

you can just look in the X3 log files yourself; when the Data Parameter shows I:\ it is not good.

It's not so easy to read all those line's. I will give it a try.
387  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Spinup the disks (09x-7) on: April 11, 2009, 09:34:14 pm
Hi Peter,

Today i have noticed the spinning up and down sound of the external drives during playback in version 09x-7. I was expecting that all the data was copied to the internal drive! So i decided to do a small test because i have chosen for "Copy to xx-drive by standard". (see settings). After loading a compleet cd and a play command i switched off the external drives. What happed:
1 Music keeps playing
2 in unattended mode, the track titel and indicator stay's on the first track
3 every new track i got an error message. Music keeps playing.

Is this normal behaviour?

Regards, Johan

...What I was looking for is ability to have XX always play randomly from my complete collection....

Yes please!
Selecting Gallery then random play for all, selecting Jazz then only random play for jazz.

But what is the best soundcard I can get??? RME or M-audio maybe??

Depends on the budget!

I am using an Audiotrak HD2 (€100,= Netherlands). Very good soundcard for the money. You can change the opampsif you like! I have used a NOS DAC dddac1543. The soundcard sounds very good and give you more settings to play different formats.
