466  Ultimate Audio Playback / Music Storage and convenient playback / Fastest way to add music to the Gallery? on: July 30, 2008, 11:38:51 pm
Hi Peter,

Today i have copied 16 cd's to the harddisk. What is the fastest way to add the music to the Gallery? I am using two external Harddisks and the Galery is on D:/ (internal Harddisk). I useally changed the path to the Gallary to one of the external Harddisk containing the ripped cd's, but thats a very long way to add music. What is the most simple and fastest way?

, but how good/official is your 96KHz version (ripped) ?
It's the official Donald Fagen Nightfly Trilogy. ripped with DVD Audio Extractor.

I just tried this, but nothing ...
I have seen these errors also with other recordings. Not always reproducable

My picture of the 24/96Khz is "Morphed" and yours is not.

Please hold on to when I applied the "smart cutting" as I mentioned; at that moment the problem of "crashing" won't be there either. Ok ?
Great! good

Hi Peter,

I guess the answer is No.......
At least you can prevent an application crash, by generating an warning message!?

No. The slider is at the start position!

So it looks like you can copy this behaviour, right ?

Every time i played this record it gives the errors
I have seen them just before the start of track three en and the second time just before the start of track four.

In the unattended mode you don't see the errors!

Yesterday the music spontaneously stops playing halfway the record in unattended mode (09v-2). No error messages. I have seen this before. Today I have test it with the same record in attended mode. Again it stops and now with messages! I have the impression that i have seen it also with other records. (In this version it is the second time)

.....I'm still getting random hiccups and clicks between tracks (as discussed already)........

I am using two DAC's DDDAC1543 with USB interface and  a PCI Soundcard. I only have the random hiccup problem with the Soundcard. With version 09v-2, as far as it takes i did'nt noticed hiccups anymore . I'll have the impression that the problem is solved!?!

During the hiccup period i have changed / disabled a lot of things but never found a direct relation. Now i disable standard the virus checker, infrared devices, and more programs.

......as folder.jpg and you have put that in the directory as intended.....
Always in the directory where the music data is. ......Sometimes i'll put more coverarts in that directory. Future backup's i'll put in de artis directory. So there are more coverarts in artist - and album directories.

errors since they can only come from files which are not called folder.jpg while a folder.jpg is not in the directory
Sometimes i'll keep the origional names. All in the same album directory or apart in the artist directory.

Background colour selectable?

Do you now have more coverart showing up opposed to before?
I do not understand your question. In this version there are nine new coverarts/cd's. Directly after copying to the Galary the errors where generated during scrolling.

Quote
Do you have the feeling that many are different now?

Beside the new background and red lining in the image i don't see a differences with the previous version 09v-1

Quote
what name would you use for the one and only cover ?

I only rename the name to 'folder'. I'll keep the extension as it is.

476  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Errors in the Library Area on: July 05, 2008, 01:22:29 am
Hi Peter,
During scrolling in the Library Area i've got a frozen screen in the The Library Area with a Warning Message "Onvoldoende geheugen. -0" (See Scrolling1). After accepting this error, the Warning came back several times. Scrolling again gives the same warnings. After accepting the last warning it shows the other images in the library area. The next scrolling gives the messages scrolling1, scrolling 2 and 3! After an restart it works again. I have seen this warnings now for the second time in two days.

I have the impression that scrolling in the Library is much slower then the version before.

The Library Area now is provided with a black background.

I prefer the white background. Please make it selectable.

But that's what the Mem checkbox is for. Tick that, and XX is using the old method (which shouldn't sound better), where 2GB can take 60 minutes (of 44.1/16).
Indeed thats the solution!

But when i forgot to use the right setting (no double or mem checkbox ticked), i get a application crash. Is it possible that you automaticaly downsize the settings so that the music keeps playing. Or make a tickbox "Downsize automaticaly when needed" Otherwise generate an warning message. E.g. you do when 24 bit resolution 96kHz when you use the double setting=> Double not supported .......

You might use Taskmanager to see whether your 3GB is actually used
The 3G is indeed used by the system!

It's working here too!
479  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Track length on: June 15, 2008, 01:03:35 am
Hi Peter,

Today i have made some backups of cd's with a length of 60 minutes and more for one track. When i start the track to play nothing happened during 2 or 3 minutes and then an application crash. I have test some other cd's all the same. When i play a track of 30 - 35 minutes all is then working ok. Settings are no double, no quad, no upsampling, 16 bits cd's, EAC, i am using 3 GB of RAM memory, PCI Soundcard,

When i use double for a track of +-15 minutes it gives also an error.

What is the maximum track size to play Capless between the two tracks?

I have upgrade the RAM memory from 2 ==> 3 GB. Is XXHighend using this new memory?

Regards, Johan

Below XXEngine3.zip should be unpacked and placed in your 0.9uv-1 folder (save the original one). SQ might be different.

After replacing XXEngine3 it does'nt work. No sound. I have checked the active task list. It shows no Engine3. Both in attended and unattended mode. In unattended mode there is no wallpaper (and sound). Switching back to the original version it works again.

Do i something wrong?

Regards, Johan
