After a couple starts and stops of windows 8 all is working again. I don't know what went wrong and why i lost the startbutton and it shows the windows 8 desktop and all the strange messages in xxhe.

Hi Peter,
Today i had some troubles during playback, music stops suddenly and nothing happens anymore. After a hard reset i started xxhe again, music did play but when i saw after cooking a diner a real windows 8 screen. Again a restart of the computer and an attemp to go back from minimize os to a normal state of the os gives a message "Not allowed in xp" and the screen shows also in xxhe middle pain the message "XXHighEnd Win32NT". Some settings does not work anymore e.g straight contiguos, xtweaks. I'm using windows 7 explorer for windows 8.
Suggestions to solve this?

In the first place i was searching on the picture for that damping device. But i'm afraid that you mean that two white 'switches' on front of the NOS1a on the left site of the letter 'a'. I never heard or seen such a device. Where can i find more information about these?

I don't know what you mean by that. I'm using the Blaxius with adapters. I did not change the RCA connectors yet. Please PM me the upgrade procedure or do i need first to change the connectors?

Now after four week with the NOS1a i want to share my experience with you.
I was very happy with the NOS1 and I could hardly imagine that it could sound better! I'm using speakers with compression drivers for the high and middle frequencies.
The NOS1a is another level: detaills, space, etc. You can read a lot of positive reactions on the forum. I have the impression that I have more Bass. Good for the Piano to have more body. Im listening very often to jazz. But on some cd's the acoustic bass becomes very annoying (Kate Bush-title track Areal. This was with Windows 7. Some cd's sounded complete different. Piano with more space around it.  I have read the Win 7 /Win 8 discussions on your forum many times, so i decided to install Win 8 expecting to get a better bass. Windows 8 is a big change. The bass is better, but sometimes still to much/ annoying. The music is more in your face. When i'm talking and playing music, the music irritates me sometimes. Very detailled but i'm missing the space around instruments. Missing 3d space/image and depth. I have tried to change the XXHE parameters, but the influance is minimal. I'm using under clocking and all the usual Win 8 XXHE parameters. I've changed the interlinks but the effects are minimal. I'm thinking to go back to Windows 7 to get a more relaxed, 3d, spatial sound. Any suggestions to improve the sound in Windows 8? (any change to develope an OS for XXHE?  )

I switched back to custom, tracks play now until the end. Ps. i hear some small cracks during the sound in the right channel. Did i use an old version of the filter files? I wil download it again and replace them.

What parameters are you suggestion to rais in AI?

I have seen this behaviour earlier music stops just before the end of the track and start the next track! All tracks!

Q5=2, Q's=1; others 1; sfs=0,4

How can I check this?

When all was running again well, I switched back to AI, again there were errors about failled to set sample rate. Loading again preset file and all is working again. Grrrrrrrrrr back to AI now working!
