So, Bert, is it indeed so that setting things correctly in Normal OS makes it OK for MinOS ?

Yes, the PC does not go into sleep mode anymore and all is very responsive in minOS mode. So far things keep running nicely, even after some time (+hours) not doing anything with the PC.

In my case I never saw a problem. However, I always worked like this :

- Monitor is set to go off after 45 minutes (no screensaver) *);
- PC never hybernates or sleeps or anything *);
- Set Switch Off Monitor in XXHighEnd settings;

*) : This is to be set in Normal OS Mode.

I figured those out myself before (clicking the energy settings did not respond in MinOS, so what to do next....) and changed those settings under normal OS conditions.

All was fine here already before responding, I just wanted to share the experience of having a "dead" PC...

Is this in Normal OS Mode ?
And if not, does it happen there the same ?

I have something "similar" but then related to the sleep mode of the PC (unattended).

The only way to get the PC back to life is to turn off the power and then start the PC again.

Alt-X is not a problem here when XX is playing.

You are not activated properly.

I am now...  Happy

I still can't get into minimized... it seems to go all through but at the end it comes up with a message that I should contact Phasure because it can't boot into minimized?

I see "wait", then a question about restore and then about continue and then the screen truns dark and then the message pops up that it can't!!!!

It looks similar to a situation where things were XX is not activated but it is (or isn't it activated properly afterall?).

Blehhh...updates!!! YAK

I am out for a while, not in the mood to stay behind a PC
156  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 0.9z-8-3 Error on: March 15, 2013, 09:14:35 am
I received the same message but I could go into minimized  through the previous version after set "ultimate" in the new one, and it seems to work OK.

It seems yes but Ultimate Tweaks do not work as the processor does not seem to be too busy and temperatures stay low...but perhaps the cooling is great?  unhappy
157  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / 0.9z-8-3 Error on: March 14, 2013, 10:36:24 pm
I can't get into minimized with the Ultimate option selected...

Use Settings or No XTweaks gives no error and going into minimized mode is not a problem.

Bert

Perhaps Sunday I have the time for new trials...
158  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Failed to set sample rate on: February 28, 2013, 08:20:08 pm
Still I get the error message.

Good! At least for me, not for you... I do not have the problems you describe.

I have 1.03 installed as well.

159  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / PA engaged and therefore DC related perhaps? on: February 25, 2013, 05:23:39 pm
Dear Stanley & Jud,

Reading through this topic and you telling that your amp is going in to safety mode means that it thinks there is something wrong ...and the only thing that comes to mind is that your amp does not like DC at its input and that you should NOT use PA.

Or install an input capacitor in your amps and you're free to go..

Perhaps I am wrong but that is what my recovering brain is telling me...

Anyone with horns who can agree with MORE higher frequency output (W7 !) ?

My ears (not just that!) are out of service for one week... some f*king virus caught me by surprise.

Anyway, I just found the culprit for that reboot into Normal OS without being Activated not working, and solved it for the next version (and adjusted the Release Notes to that).

Great but I will not remove the line from my short Update Notes list before seeing it working like that myself.

I will just go back to normal OS before updating anything anyhow, most other things just do not work out as well in minimized OS too...

162  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Can't get out of Minimized OS on: February 19, 2013, 02:31:07 pm
Still there would be this Restore Point ... scratching

Yes, there was but useless if minimized does NOT support for this (not even using F8 during booting).

Bert

But hey, things are working here okay now with my fresh W7 installation and Windows updates will not bother me anymore and no scary windows sounds either because I killed that before it could make noise and so forth... I should write my own installation guide to prevent that I forget something and need again at least one hour of frustration to get things working properly again.

Updates? Blehhh...

BTW. On my normal PC windows NEVER updates when I reboot, even if there are some waiting. Only when I shutdown the PC then it will start updating or of course when I manually want to update. No special settings here, just plain standard windows settings.
163  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Can't get out of Minimized OS on: February 19, 2013, 01:51:47 pm
Wasn't it you who is sharing data between the two OSes ?

No, I am not mixing things. Each OS has its own directory and its own XXData folder.

Okay Bert, at least now you know why I wanted to know what happened or how things went.
... to prevent it happening a next time ...

I know why you ask but nevertheless nothing further will come out of my problems with this now though because one other problem occured while being in (a) normal state (to try...). All worked fine finally until I hit the button to go minimized and agreed to reboot.

XX never worked again or even showed up. It crashes with short bliep (popup) on the screen without leaving me a hint...

What happened this time?

While rebooting from normal to minimized OS I noticed that Windows started to install 38 new updates without asking beforehand. Nice, but that should ONLY happen when I shut down the PC (if I want to update) and NOT while rebooting windows.

I am installing a new W7 version at this very moment and I will generate a new activation code through PayPal.

1. The Release Notes seem to tell that you can go from Minimized to Normal without being Activated.

I am apparently the only one who can't and see a popup telling me that it is not possible in DEMO mode.

Quote
2. Why would we not be able to Activate in Minimized state ?

My old activation number does not seem to work anymore and getting a new one is impossible becuase there is NO network connection (minimized mode remember?).

I did try one last thing (just remembered) and that seems to work finally.

I still had a very old activated XX folder (3 versions before!) and copied the XXHighend1xx.dat file from there to the newly "installed" folder.

If it were for me this has always been possible.
So what's up here ?

The installation is not a problem on its own.

Its the present situation of XX where I am not able to activate nor able to bring the OS back in normal state just because XX is not activated...

And if XX is not activated then other functions do not work either as it is in DEMO mode...
