So, we got the Height and the Width. Only thing missing before placing the advance orders is the Depth and the Price....  Cool

Total depth including drivers support is 85cm (the horn itself is 54cm in depth).

Price depends on several aspects and personal requirements.

The Unlimited version can be yours for 28k ...

Cheers,

Bert

The size really  Happy

Size is not an issue when you close your eyes...  Wink

Besides that, the principle can be used with smaller sizes too (more or less compromising though) and depends on your musical preferences and playback level behaviour...

Bert, how close to the walls can you place the Waves? Peter mentioned 50cm for the rear wall. What are your thoughts (rear and side)?

Hi Mani,

Close to the rear walls is not an issue (there is no mid- and high frequencies at the rear like with your own speakers).

Minimal 30-50cm from the sidewalls is needed for the air to breath freely around the sides, that's all.

Cheers,

Bert

Then better not come over to my place... I tweaked them a bit more to suit my room conditions plus some other tweaks not applied before (there was not enough time!) and changed the crossover settings for a better tonal balance.

BTW, no need for a big room at all.  Happy

These are not the same speakers as you've heard them at the show...  whistle

Yep, that's the little program I've suggested before. After installing it will tell you everytime you reboot about the change though but that message can be removed too...

Yes but not legal... there is a little program on the internet somewhere that simply avoids this message to appear.

I am not sure how it works (forgot the tweak) but it works well.

This shows how it can be done differently...

247  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 0.9z-7-3: Playback stops while in unattended on: September 18, 2012, 03:03:24 pm
Hi Ivo,

I start playing in unattended, all gets loaded, all services and processes stopped, playback starts. While 3rd track is playing, playback stops as if STOP is pressed.

This looks to me like you're running in Demo mode (ie stops playing after a while)  meaning that your XX is not activated properly.

Hi ivo,

Can you still minimize with version 7-2? If so then use that as starting situation where you first take the OS back to normal and use v7-2 to bring windows back to normal duties.

Then create a new directory not using a used name and extract all XX 7-3 files into that directory.

Do NOT activate at first but make XX play with your basic settings first. If that works out okay then make a reboot (to be sure) and start XX v7-3 again. Now you should activate and play some tunes to check if all is still activated. Reboot again bringing all back still working as it should and then going to minimised OS should not be a problem.

Ah, thanks for the clearing the matter...

I am listening to PA engaged only and do not know the difference as I did not compare it. I do not feel the need to alter anything (the sound is unbeatable already!) and also because I believe what other people on this forum tell me is a good starting point.

Not that this isn't interesting to experiment but mostly because I am seriously upgrading my speaker system here and using the latest XX features as reference for tuning purposes.

I should focus on the speakers and amps, Peter should focus on XX so that we both can play some real nice tunes at the X-fi show at the end of this month...

It just occurred to me ...

When you guys have been checking DC Offset from your amps (output) while it did not work pre-0.9z-7-3, YOU MUST CHECK THAT AGAIN.

You mean that it did not work at all or only for those who, could not get it engaged with previous versions?

I had a lot of DC at the outputs of my amps when I last checked with PA engaged which tells me that it worked for me before this last version or ... ?

252  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Can't uncompress the dongles setup zip file on: August 31, 2012, 04:03:02 pm
If I see it correctly you are trying to unpack it with 7Zip. Possibly this does not work for (this) RAR. I have had no other complaints ...

Peter

I had an error too having a damaged file without par files to be able to repair it. I downloaded it again (using a direct link to the download this time) and that one was okay and unpacking did not give any problems.

No problems unpacking it but installing (can't get it installed properly on my PC) or even make it work using my laptop is something else, too many fails so far making me stop and do something else.

253  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 0.9z-7-2 OS doesn't minimise on: August 31, 2012, 08:21:22 am
This is the first version in which I am unable to Min OS. Is it a bug or is there a different procedure than what is mentioned in the tutorials?

I had the same problem but after going to normal OS using the previous version of XX and properly activating the new version I was able to go minimised again.

Not the most user friendly way to update XX though but in the end it worked out for me.

254  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 0.9z-7-1 problem (SOLVED) on: August 29, 2012, 09:11:33 pm
...one problem though. It stops playing after 15 minutes or so and as far as I can see all is activated.

Problem seems to be solved! I activated XX again with the number I received before and followed the activation procedure further down the line(s).

Not sure if that did the trick but it is playing okay now and the borders look like they should acording to the description.

Minimising did not go so easy either but that is working okay too again.

I was too quick, thanks for the 2nd update...

...one problem though. It stops playing after 15 minutes or so and as far as I can see all is activated.

The previous version 9z7.0 was nicely activated from start.

I could be wrong though (seeing red borders and such).

Should I go through Paypal again or..?
