Hi,

I'm trying out the demo of the XXHighEnd player and I followed the installation instructions, and I can get it to play music. But when I'm comparing it to Foobar2000, the player I use mostly, I do not hear a difference with whatever I play (mostly FLAC and MP3 files). So I was wondering if I have everything setup the right way?

First of I do not know what information to post in order for anyone to see what I need to change to something else. So I can now only tell what equipment I use to listen to music, and ok that is nothing special.

My audio hardware:

Soundcard: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Pro series
Speakers: Logitech Z-2300
Headphones: Sony Dynamic Stereo Headphones MDR-P3
IEM's: NuForce Ne-7M

I also use the drivers from Creative, I use the Crystalizer on 100% and sometimes a rock EQ when I have it set on 'entertainment mode'.

Thanks in advance,

T1n5l3y

Hard to say ...
Under the notice that I am not so sure what is to perceive from headphones (I never use them), I would try to find the lowest possible latency with Kernel Streaming Special Mode on one side, and the Adaptive Mode lowest Q1 on the other side (see Tooltip on the KS Mode field how to do the latter); In nomal circumstances those two settings are very different for SQ.

But I'm afraid you may be using equipment which just doesn't allow differences to be perceived. On the other hand, since you are using what you are using, you shouldn't have any problems with "SQ" as such. Or ?
And *I* am not telling you to spend $$ on an expensive system only for this ...

In either case, avoid any "processing" other software, because it will kill those details all is about. So, I anticipte "bit perfect" playback to begin with, and when that is not in order, anything can happen.

I'm afraid I'm not being very helpful here ...

Hi T1n5l3y, you will not hear any difference because your system is not designed for high quality audio playback at all. More for gaming and mp3. First you would need better sound card, speakers, headphones... unhappy
