Forgot to bring back Min OS...

Peter,

somehow my 09z74 got screwed up (I messed up with Galleries or presets or whatsoever), I deleted all XX files to make a fresh install of 09z75, but why the f... ever forgot to bring back the OS to a normal state. So I installed 09z75 with the OS still being minimized. Unfortunately, I do not have a restore point for the OS (sh...)

What to do now?

09z75 seems to run ok, is activated, but Min OS does not change to active (red). Stays blue after rebooting.

Any help for a desperate fellow???

thanks for your help, I toggeled the MinOS button to red, but when I hit it and reboot, it will come back up as red, so whatever I do, the status indicated by XX stays the same (When I toggle to blue and reboot a couple of times, it stays blue, when I toggle to red and reboot a couple of times, it stays red)

How can I tell from Windows settings (Control panel?) that I am in the non minimized OS mode? Any chance?

Some more strange things I have observed: I gues I am activated, since I can choose memory allocation schemes, but when the Coverart comes up at unattended pla, it still shows a pale yellowish rendering, not the red-orange one that I am used to (and take as a signal for activation, right?).

Second, PA does not engage, it keeps the ~ sign instead of the *.

Would it help to do a fresh install of XX if I could indentify a normal OS status?

Carsten, on my system minimized mode is indicated when the "loudspeaker icon" in the lower right hand taskbar has a red "X" over it. When there is no "X" I'm in full OS mode.

I found the crossed loudspeaker not a reliable indicator.

Well, for something completely different:

You can also try to start the discmanager. Type "format" in the searchbar (startmenu) and select the discmanager. In minimised OS it will give an error that the "virtual disc service" is not available.

I hope that gives a clue.

if the the discmanager is a reliable indicator, then I am always in minimized OS mode, whatever I try and do.

Does it mean I have to do a full reinstall of the system?
Or is there any chance to get it back (manually perhaps)?

Hi,

I had a similar problem before.

You have to install the release 09z74 again, unminimize with this release the OS,
and then install 09z75, activate it + minimize OS.

This procedure was working on my system.

And when you are in normal mode again the automatic restore points should be seen again than too.

Before you suggested it yourself, the first part of your last post indeed indicates that you lost your Activation. So, that really is it.

If re-entering your last received Code for Activation doesn't do the job (but follow the procedure in well-fashion), then don't fuss around too much and better obtain a new one. Money will be sent back of course.

Seems that this worked! At least I have brought back my system to the normal state by reinstalling 09z74.

But now it won´t let me minimize the system again... (with a fresh install of the same 09z74 model).
 
So I either have to find out how this thing with the automatic restore points work or I will obtain a new activation code and hope that either one works. Will try over lunchtime. Need to get the system back to work for a shootout with other players next week.

I  have proceeded with a new clean install of XX09z75 model after cleaning everything of the previous models.

OS was in non-mimimized mode, allowing me to access the web and do the activation procedure for 09z75.

Worked out ok, but the problem maintains: Cannot minimize OS, rendering of coverart in unattended stays yellow-ish...

Any further help? Or do I have to do a clean new install of Win7? B.t.w.: I had not enabled restore points, so no way back...

But for now it is not clear to me whether your by now newly obtained Code also does not work. If all is right it is from before your last post. So, let me know that first ...

no, the newly obtained code from last night does not work.

As said, I cleanded everything, copied the 09z75 files to the drive and obtained a new activation code.

All looked good again (can chose core appointment scheme), until playing unattended (still yellow-ish border on coverart) and PA won´t engage.
Also Minimizing OS does not work.

Any fresh idea?

Try to start from square one and delete XXH at first.

A) Go to Systemmanagement and uninstall via "Programme/Programm deinstallieren" the Phasure OCX program
B) reboot the PC
C) perform now a fresh installation of XXH, and during that process the "Phasure OCX" files will be installed again.
D) and then follow the normal procedure.

This works an my PC.

Problem solved.

I will now think of a way to emphasize even more the importance of following the sequence 100% as sent by email, because it really happens more often that because of not doing so one won't get there.

Just a quick "Thank you" to all who have helped here.

By chance, activation worked out the first time not following precisely the description given by Peter, the 2nd time I failed by doing at again "so so", and messed it up.

Solved now by following exactly the advice given in Peter´s email. Great help to talk to people who understand what is going on here, I would otherwise have ended up reinstalling Win7 (nightmare with boocamp on a Mac to get all drivers properly running and shutting down what is not needed (like battery management!) for low latency).

Have learned a lot this week. Desperately needed my system for a comparison with Amarra on the same DAC (Weiss 202 tuned by Klang und Kunst). Will report here if you like. Have yet to listen to your NOS DAC, once I am back in Germany (currently I live in Lisbon) I will try to get i touch with a fellow running XX with NOS Dac, my system is portable, so would be fun to listen.

1. Check the authenticity of Window licence. Go to Window activation page by clicking Start , right clicking Computer, clicking Properties. At the lower pane, the system will tell you that your Window is not activated or illegal version.

2. Try using some W7 tools say Disk Management. Click Start, Search Disk Management in the search box. You will not be able to launch this tool.
