The need of installing drivers?

Peter,

Everything works and sound just great. What is the need of installing drivers? The drivers for the USB cards and the drivers which came with the MB.

Gerard,

To be honest, prior to the XXHighEnd PC I never installed MoBo drivers. Never. With this PC now I do, but the real reason for it ? possibly because I know what I'm doing with the PC from head to tail, and the drivers are "official". Let's say that we hope that things get better from it. But actually I don't know (or heard etc.) the difference for net result.
