If I finally happen to put it in practice one day, I will use a linear power supply with a voltage controller to control the CPU fans (at least) Happy

Alain, the Noctua has an adapter to reduce the speed that can be connected to other adapter with a molex to be connected to a power supply. If you have a 12v linear power supply probably you can connect the fan there at the speed you want.
