Ok, so this is the same as the last time I could try it. I know what this means, but hoped it wouldn't be there anymore.  Btw, this is about a phenomenon I didn't know of before, and which keeps track of all consistent software versions. It (I now know) exists on XP just the same, but I never heard of it overthere. And oh, it makes your disk get full by many many gigabytes by full automation.  Let's get Google ... |

I get the same error when I want to start XXHighEnd#3 directly from within the directory, selecting it from within XX (I thought that would be the way to choose between 1, 2 and 3?) then I do not get any error. It doesn't play though...only #1 and #2 are playing tracks. Bert |

(starting it directly is not possible, but should NOT give that error anyway -> it should just do nothing then).

I could download it and install it on my Laptop just to see if XX#3 then works, I will then have at least 2 different Vista versions running trying to find the needed files to make it work on the other PC. Or you should compile the needed files within XX or add an install.exe so that we only have the needed files at the proper place... Bert |

Ok. First attempt at solving this. Note I'm trying this as lean as possible, so maybe it needs more attempts. Thanks again ! DO NOTE that the DLLs contained in the zip below should *NOT* be copied to the Windows directory, nor should they be registered. This implies that XXHighEnd should not be installed in the Windows directory (or subdirectory therefrom). But you wouldn't do that anyway, would you ?  Edit : Removed the zip (which was useless afterall). |

Can you verify by Taskmanager that XXEngine3.exe is running after you pressed Play (for a track) in XXHighEnd ?
Btw, do NOT use tracks with diacretical marks ! ... because then you wouldn't have sound indeed (in the current version).

One of the files in the latest zip is this one : XXEngine3.exe.intermediate.manifest
If you delete that (but keep it somewhere else) ... does that change anything ?

Nothing changed here, "same" SideBySide error...the logbook shows a different error in the detailed report though.
Same error message too when I directly want to open XX#3.exe
Best would be if you would pickup my Laptop and see for yourself what is changing instead of me making screendumps over and over again...
