Peter, I love your player but the name is downright silly I think. A name that is a little less tacky and a bit more tasteful and cool would perhaps be a good idea? Remember that something isn't high end if one says it is Happy

Why don't you call it Phasure?

Peter

While XXHighEnd is already know in audiophile circles, your website is www.phasure.com not www.xxhighend.com, so Fidelio's suggestion makes sense.

Does "Phasure" have any meaning?

Don't spend any time on a new name as it will take a huge amount of time that would be better spent on development, manufacture, and distribution. Make a quick decision!

Cheers

xxhighend.nl exists and is the same as this site.

I think phasure means phase sure, but I could be wrong Happy

And IIRC the DAC will be called Phasure NOS1.

Hi Peter,

What about running a naming contest for 1) XXHIGHEND and the 2) PHASURE NOS1 DAC.  You would have nothing to risk as you could just stick to the names you already have if nothing better surfaces.

Hi Per - Thank you.

Both are different phenomena of course (one being the software player, the other one being the upcoming DAC). So it merely would be something like Phasure and Phasure NOS1 that would co-exist (then).

I must honestly say that right from the beginning "XXHighEnd" looked a bit of overdone to me, and at the time I couldn't even choose between the Phasure.com and XXHighEnd.nl domain, so I sort of crossed it. Later, when the DAC emerged (at least here in my rooms Happy) I thought to move XXHighEnd to the XXHighEnd.nl domain (now linked through to Phasure.com) and use Phasure.com for the DAC.
I guess I am a person who can't decide. swoon

Telstar - Phasure should be the more active approach to proper phase hence time alignment, a most important phenomenon.
FWIW (regarding the naming).

Peter

This is an interesting phenomenon that i havent completely understood. I consider myself a person not very subjective to notice phase changes, BUT changes in the time domain are of the uttermost importance and need more investigation.
If you have some literature, please send it to my mail.

I personally donīt give a ratīs ass about the name of the player as long as it does itīs job
strategically I wouldnīt even consider changing it,because itīs already well known and it might be hard to change an ingrown habit

XXHighEnd tells everyone that the number one priority is SQ ... anything else is icing on the cake.

Phasure is an excellent domain name because phase is an important part of what I think this player holds true to: Whether it's keeping true to the digits or using the Qs to dial it in.
