Hi,

I installed the above version. My dac is an audiolab cdq. I installed and set up the software according to all the instruction (for dummies, etc). But when I play a wave or flac file, it plays and stop, two to 3 times in 1 sec duration and then went silent. The player is still playing though. But there is no sound.

This are the settings (standard ones):
#engine3, Playerprio below norm, Threadprio high, dac is 24/192, At >16 player needs 24 bit, don't do anything with coverart, keep lan services running activated, split file set at 50 Mb, include garbage collect activated.

I am using a laptop with intel i5 430M at  2.26GHz with 3Mb L3 cache. Memory is 6Gb of DDR3.

Interestingly no matter whether I play a flac or wave file, the flac logo is shown on the player.

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

LT.

By the way, I noticed that no matter which wave file I choose to be played, the player always plays the first wave file. Mmm.. that's a bit strange.

I set Q1 to 14, rest of them to 0.

Can you please switch on Logging (at the bottom in the Settings Area).

Then let happen the situation.
Next, (don't press anything anymore) grab the XX, X3 and X3PB logfile from the TemporaryData folder under your XX folder.

If you would be so kind to post these files (as attachment), then maybe I can see something.

No, that a LOT strange. Haha. Never heard of such a thing !

I just tried. Again the player stutters and then went silent. I attach the 3 files here.

Hope this can be solved. Thank you!

I'm afraid you sent the wrong XX file. Could even be from another day, haha.
The correct one will still be in the TemporaryData folder. Just look at the times in X3 and X3PB; from there you will be able to find the XX.
Or otherwise you'd have to do it again.

Btw, are you sure you "select" the track properly for playback ? I mean, when you click once on a track it won't look as "selected" opposed to when you click it for a second time (not double click). The latter will (should) work okay, the former not ...

Hi Peter,

I tried again this morning. Pls see the attached files. This time it should be correct.

Thanks for highlighted about clicking on the song. The first time I click on any song it will go into renaming the song. If I click it again, the name of the file is confirmed. And when I click it again, the song I believe is chosen as the bit rate can then been seen. Then I play it. Same stuttering problem.

Great that you are here. You can probably find the issue by looking at the files. Thanks in advanced!

regards,
LT.

It looks strange to me.

I can't really see whether you show the Coverart as Wallpaper, but I think you do (or try) and that there's an issue with that.
Can you try it without any Coverart stuff running (there's a button for that in the Settings Area : Don't do anything with Coverart).

When it does not help, please post the log files again. Also, try to make it a clean log. Like :
Start XX
click Play (one time only !)
wait untill you think all failed
grab the log files.

but :

Quote
don't do anything with coverart

This is from your first post. If this is how you test it all the time, maybe just switch it On ?
Something is strange here ...

Peter

PS: Are you sure your DAC needs 24 bits ? Did you try 32 ?

Hi Peter,

I don't switch coverart on. Let me try again tonight and then send you the files. When I start the player the music plays, then stutters and then it went silent while the player is still playing. Do I need to stop the player or grab the files while the player is still playing?

The Audiolab CDQ require 24 bits to be sent. I did try 32 bits. It did not work.

Thanks! Till I send the files.

regards,
LT.

There's some 7 seconds of nothing happening "somewhere" and it looks to be in the Coverart Area. Maybe a "wrong" folder structure.
Please try this :

Make a whole new folderstructure (somewhere) like :

\Music\Jazz\[MyAlbum]

Copy the tracks from one album to the [MyAlbum] part.
Now try it with that album.
And let me know.

If there's no difference, please post the log files from that. It doesn't matter much when you grab them, if you only tell exactly what happened about when (like "after 3 seconds sound stopped, and then ..."). One time Play for that XX (startup) session please.
