Hello Peter,

First i like to say that it's great that the most importent ( For me) supports are added. And offcourse that it wont be long now to introduce 1.00  yahoo

You have explaint with the update 0.9p  blush2

VBR (Variable BitRate) files were *not* tested. If they don't work as they should, you will notice this by a wrong indication of the duration, which goes along with a too early stop of playing the file when the duration is indicated too short, or currently unknown anomalies when it is indicated too long.

This happends a lot.

But i like to show you some message's that came up. It's a little bit ( i think) like the Flac things that you allready know off.

The first one (XX1.png) I like to show you is that is how a Mp3 tracktime thing shows up. Different than from Flac is that all the songs ends with .00 (Or is that how a Mp3 is convert?

The Pic's (xx2.png and xx3.png) Will show you some errors that shows up often. The thing that is a little bit strange is that these errors sometime's also are shown when only .Wav is playing.'

I like to say that than a cd with Wav and Mp3 are loaded in XX.

I have never had such errors when only .Wav is loaded in.

Grtzzzz Gerard...  Grin

Hi Gerard,

all the songs ends with .00

That's normal for MP3 (in the case of XX).

What do you mean ?

a. I rely on this :

I've had an extensive listen this evening to a wide range of familiar tracks encoded at anywhere from CBR 320kbps all the way down to CBR & VBR 128kbps and I'm once again impressed with how you're processing this format !! Foobar is yet again a distant memory for me .. LOL

b. By now I myself did not run into any problem (including VBRs indeed).

Peter

PS: Please do not alter the subject of a topic, and then start mixing (up) everything in there ...  I split the topic and changed the other one back to its original title.

Hey peter,

I like to say that than a cd with Wav and Mp3 are loaded in XX.

Which is not the case in your xx2/xx3 example. No times ending at .00 in there.

You are right at that moment the mp3 loading was above the other numbers. But when you say that you have those errors when listening  to .Wav,  than this conclusion is wrong.

With this i mean that during playing mp3 XX just stops playing..

I am sorry for the mixing up. Won't do it again. grazy Grin

Well, if I have that myself (as described in the buglist) ... wacko

Of course I believe you, but now ... how "legal" is that file ?
Would you be so kind to PM me an example ?
Sidenote : AFAIK (or intended) all MP3's should play (opposed to FLAC (as explained elsewhere)).

Thanks Gerard.

Hoi Peter, All,

I will tell you one other thing i found out...  unsure

The errors  No Track Data FoundNo Track Given and Engine 3 apears for 4 time's in a row today. I pusht the left library button and let the window open. Than XX come's with errors. That apears when the window is open and at the same time the songs ends and wish to go to the next track.

Try it....

Grtzzzz   prankster

EDIT 1: I just have seen ( buglist) that it also apears when new tracks are loaded in. But in the case i am writing  you only need to open the left library button and leave the window open.

EDIT 2: Maybe just open and closing is the problem?

The error no data and Engine 3 stopt working apears for 4 time's in a row today  when i pusht the left library button and leave the window open. Than XX come's with errors. That apears when the window is open and at the same time the songs ends and whants to go to the next track.
EDIT 1: I just have seen ( buglist) that it is when new tracks are loaded in. But in the case i am writing it you only need to open the left library button and leave it open.

EDIT 2: Maybe just open and closing is the problem?

Ahh ...

Gerard, this makes perfectly sense;
When you leave the window open (the one which pops up after clicking the Library button), the program can't do anything else ... while it should provide the next track when playback is active.
oops

Thanks. Something to solve ...

Which, as it appears now, is not so easy. I tried to solve it in the upcoming 0.9q version, but ...
In a later version I will address it, not now ... sorry

Hello Peter,

What is the reason that XX sometime's shows a different bitrate with mp3 than the verkenner does?  unsure

Grtz Gerard..

That depends ...
The most obvious reason is a variable bitrate, Exlorer (Verkenner) can't cope with. You can see this at the file's properties, where the data can show "more values" ("meerdere waarden"). In that case the actual (average !) bitrate is unknown (but shown as some crazy value, most often too low), while XX calculates it from the file length and play time.

Otherwise I don't know.
Only when the presented play time by XX is not correct, the bitrate shown by XX is not correct. But I did not see that.

Ok...  scratching

Most of the time's explorer say's it is 320 kbps and when i play it with XX than 224 or 256 is shown... But indeed playing the same cd XX shows different rate's. So maybe that cd is wrong.... dntknw
