This may look somewhat odd to the more experienced user, but it should be noticed that customers of the XXHighEnd PC most often obtained it because of not knowing all that much about the Windows Operating system and that using XXHighEnd too is not too easy for everybody, especially when the PC is received, and pressing Play is about the only thing to do.

But what if a new version of XXHighEnd comes about ?
First of all, the new versions can be found here : Download Area and Release Notes and the newest version will be at the top of the list.

Now, your PC usually will not be connected to the Internet and never saw it either. Just let that be so ...

Follow these easy steps :

0.
Send an email to us that you are about to upgrade.

1.
Find some Internet means elsewhere and bring a small USB pen to there.

2.
Follow the link given above, click on the link to the latest version (any version if you like), read the Release Notes if you think that is important (we do) and see the link to a .rar file right at the bottom of the page.

3.
Click that link and choose "Save". Save it to any location on your USB pen.

4.
Remove the USB pen from the Internet means (PC etc.) in legal fashion by choosing "Eject" formally.

5.
Stick the Pen in any of the USB ports in your XXHighEnd PC.

6.
Open Explorer on your XXHighEnd PC and find the USB Pen.

7.
Find the saved .rar file and right-click on it. Choose Copy.

8.
Navigate (Explorer) to the root of your C: drive and in there you will see an XXHighEnd folder. Open it and see there's at least one XXHighEnd version number in there. Could be 0.9z-9.

9.
Make a new folder in the XXHIghEnd folder (not in that 0.9z-9 given example folder !) and name it the same as the version number you see in the .rar file. At the moment of this writing this will be :
1.186

10.
Once the folder has been created, go into it (click it) so the right pane of Explorer shows an empty field. In that empty field perform right-click and from there choose Paste (remember, you performed the "copy" at #7 above).

11.
The .rar file now shows in your newly made folderl
Rightclick on it and choose "Unpack here".

12.
You now see all the files from the new XXHighEnd version in that folder;
Find XXHighEnd.exe, right-click on it and choose "Send to ..." and after that choose Desktop".

13.
A new XXHighEnd icon has appeared on the Desktop now;
Right away rename that to the version number you just downloaded and created the Folder Name for.
Watch out : If your PC was provided with the IMDisk RAMDisk software, there already was an "XXHighEnd A" icon on the desktop (meant to start XXHighEnd from RAMDisk) and this icon should just never be changed (for content) !

14.
In your Taskbar there's also that XXHighEnd icon; This leads to the "old" version as it was already installed on your PC;
Drag this from the Taskbar to the desktop. Notice : For Windows 8 it will now just disappear and for Windows 7 it (probably) appears as another icon on your desktop. You can leave it there for possible future use (and it should indicate your old version in its name, like 0.9-9z from our example).

15.
Drag your newly created XXHighEnd icon to the Taskbar. Notice : For Windows 8 it now probably has disappeared from the Desktop; if you want one there too, again perform what's written under 12 above.

16. While all looks normal now, it is not yet when your PC is provided with the IMDisk RAMDisk software; you will know automatically because of the instructions provided, but for such situations there will be a RAMA.bat file on the desktop. If so, do this :
- Rightclick on the RAMA.bat icon and choose Edit;
- In there find the line which says XCopy c:\XXHighEnd\09z9\ ... (the 09z9 is from our example and can/will be different on your PC)
- Change that 09z9 into again that folder name you created - 1.186 in our example.
- Save your changes by means of pressing ctrl-s (or choose File and Save from the top menu).
- Click away that Notepad screen.

17.
All is now prepared to fire up your new XXHighEnd version. So, double click your (new) icon for it - nothing unusual. BUT :
Do NOT use Alt-X to sart XXHighEnd !! So, just do what's just told or otherwise you'll be starting an old version or the old version which is still in the RAMDisk.

18.
XXHighEnd should now be on screen and in the Title Bar your new version number should show (1.186 in our example).
Using Explorer, navigate into your newly created folder (possibly it's still open) and find the XXHighEnd1xx.dat file; maybe sort on Name first to easily find it.

19.
Open that file (double click) and careful copy the number you see in there (select the line and use ctrl-c or rightlick - copy).

20.
Select your open XXHighEnd screen and click the Activate little section in the left pane near the top. Notice : if the left pane is not visible, drag the [1] button in the top more towards the right until the left pane appears.

21.
Paste the just copied number into the Activation Code field and press Activate.

22.
See the email you received upon #0 above for some last steps.

23.
Do not forget : If you use the IMDisk RAMDisk software, double click your RAMA.bat icon to refresh the XXHighEnd version in the RAMDisk (drive A:).

24.
You have upgraded !

The next time you will do this all automatically without even looking here. It's really simple and the steps are logical.
