G'day Peter,

Thanks for the new release, it appears the coverart issues from previous have been rectified.

I've discovered a couple of issues so far with 0.9x-6 : one minor and one which could be quite nasty!

Firstly, I can't seem to get the Alt-G working to toggle the OSD. It appears have _an_ effect as the OSD blinks momentarily, but then it continues running again. Initially I thought it may have been because of a possible omission of three asterisks ( *** ) at the end of the discription line for that function within the the XX.ahk file, but that isn't the cause. I suspect it's an internal program glitch.

The second issue and potentially harmful to your speakers, is that if you use either the Alt-D ( while in Unattended ), or the DOWN button on the volume slider, WHEN THE INITIAL VOLUME IS SET AT ZERO, then you are confronted with a continuous blast of white noise as the slider drops to -1.5 and lower. If the VOL slider is anywhere other than ZERO initially when play commences then all behaves as expected. I discovered this by accident as I was using the hotkeys while trying to cure the Alt-G issue above. I also noticed that if you initiate too many Alt-D commands in quick session a warning window pops up (Initialize Playlist) that reads "The process cannot access file 'C:\XXHighEnd-09x-6\Played.dat' because it is being used by another process".

I went back to try 0.9x-5b and the same issue of this blast of white noise occurs there. It may have been evident much earlier but has gone unnoticed by me as I generally don't use the VOL control.

Be careful with this one folks if you want to try it to see if you are affected also and report back. Keep the volume on your amp down beforehand if you use it that way.

Will continue testing.

Cheers,

Russ

EDIT: I've just noticed that if I start off with the volume slider at -1.5 , then raise it to ZERO, windows brings up a warning message to say that XXEngine3.exe has stopped working and gives you the option to close the program.

Wow Russ ... Thanks that you found this by harmless means ... Indeed I can tell right away that a change from -0 to any attenuation is not allowed, because the data is treated differently in both case (no attenuation vs attenuation). Never thought of that ...
Btw, I think that the solution has to be : going from 0 to lower is not allowed, and going to 0 is not allowed either. Will see.

I tried the Alt-G this morning, and with me it does't work either. Not anymore. It was probably killed in the process of getting those services thing right.

Thanks.

Well .. not completely harmless. I almost drowned in a cup of coffee I was drinking at the time when I lowered the volume that first time  Grin

No harm to the speakers though. They are built like tanks and have immense headroom capabilities.

Looking forward to 0.9x-6b soon.

Have fun !

Hey Russ, spoiling coffee is always better than a brandy (though more hot I guess), but I am still sorry it happened.

Both issues are solved in 0.9x-6a (up now).
