76  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd PC / Re: XXHighEnd PC MachII Low Profile Stealth on: May 15, 2016, 10:31:28 am
Hi Peter,
That looks really nice! So the new LPS fits in a case like that.

One remark though, I tried a low profile in the past, but got noise issues with the CPU fan. It was to close to the top part of the case and made to much noise blowing through vent opening. More space between top vent opening and fan was needed.

Hi,

Read the Albums Pausing thread. EAC is preferred over dbPoweramp.

78  Ultimate Audio Playback / Music Storage and convenient playback / Re: Network storage on: May 11, 2016, 10:04:41 pm
Hi Paul,

To my ears it was even a bigger upgrade for SQ then I had expected. So yes you will hear it. Can you not first place the pc's more close to each other for testing? That was what I did first.

79  Ultimate Audio Playback / Phasure NOS1 DAC / Re: The cheapest upgrade : B'ASS on: May 09, 2016, 09:51:57 pm
Hi Peter,

About the volume control, is it remote controlled?
The input - output selection is manual?

About the input - output selection I am not so sure what it means. I my case the NOS1a output will be on the BNC inputs.
From there I can select or the BNC outputs (on the back) to the amplifiers or headphone 6.5 mm jack (on the front) for my headphone.
So I can switch between those two outputs, and both will to use the higher path for best SQ? Or just one of them?

Next I could also connect via RCA my TV and switch again to the amplifiers or headphone but via the lesser path with volume control.

Is that how it will work?

The design looks great!

About the title, is it still the cheapest upgrade?

80  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Albums pausing on: April 27, 2016, 10:15:16 pm
Hi,
The connection was not the issue in my case for the album playback. It gave me ticks during playback and sometimes losing the RDP connection. It seems that my connection is not 1Gbit all the time, with 100Mbit (setting of the card) it is stable. The ticks came from automatic reconnecting of music server to audio pc all the time during playback. (bad 5e cable I think)

Lowering the Q1 from 14 to 4 did the trick for me to get continuous playback of an album. And SQ is still fine!

Hi Anthony,

Just my 2ct. I had similar issues. It was solved by lowering the Q1. Also my connection between music server and audio pc had to be lowered to 100mbit. But I think Q1 did the trick for me. I can now lower sfs to 0.07 without issues.
Regards.
82  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: How to install Tidal in the Music Server Pc on: April 10, 2016, 07:19:34 pm
Hi Juan,
It is just a lot of data..... Therefore fast internet is nice to have.
But you are right, first download and then play.

I love the Tidal option, it expand your cd collection.

83  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd PC / Re: CPU Fan on: April 04, 2016, 10:19:16 pm
Hi,
I also have only one fan for the cpu. It is powered by a separate lineair psu at 7V. At one time I forgot to power up the lineair psu, so the fan was not running. After about 1/2 hour or less the music started to stutter...... Cpu to hot. I started the fan and temperature went down. Music was fine again. And this is with MinOS. So yes the fan is needed.

Peter,
Is it possible for you to determine the right length of the short blaxius when positioned Nos1a and B'ass next to each other?

Else, where are the in- and outputs on the B'ass are positioned? With that knowledge I could figure out the needed length.

85  Ultimate Audio Playback / Phasure NOS1 DAC / Re: The cheapest upgrade : B'ASS on: April 02, 2016, 10:29:07 am
Hi Peter,

Yes, the point is that currently the Nos1a is just in the middle between the amplifiers. With the blaxius exactly at the right length. So to me it seems that the B'ass will be in the middle now replacing the Nos1a with the Nos1a left or right from it. So they will be positioned next to each other.

So will the 50cm enough to do that? I hope you understand what I mean.

Hi Peter,

Do you have images of the B'ass box?
Just to have an idea of the connections and how it can fit in my setup.

Hi Peter,
Interesting, I really do not know what you talking about, but:
Put me on the list for this New Device...... I like new devices.
All for better SQ.

89  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: RAM-OS First Impressions on: April 01, 2016, 04:16:09 pm
Hi Robert,

I had to lower my Q1 from 14 to 4 to get flawless playback for all albums. Maybe something to try. See my profile.

90  Ultimate Audio Playback / Interesting Music / Testmaterial / Nice Jazz music on: April 01, 2016, 04:13:27 pm
Hi,

I attended a Jazz festival last weekend (Transition in Utrecht TivoliVredenburg) and heard some nice Jazz music.
What stand out for me was GoGo Penguin. If you have the possibility (e.g. Tidal) just try them.

regards, Arjan
