The other night I played "I Sing The Body Electric" Weather Report which I have not played for a couple of years. This is an old favourite of many years ago. But WOW I had not realised the sound quality is as good as I am now hearing. I had to leave it and play it again tonight just to be sure that that my imagination was not hearing things or maybe suffering from some kind of hallucination (I did have mushrooms for lunch). The sound quality is unbelievable fantastic - there are sounds coming from all over the place - deep deep base that sounds like thumping on the house foundations in places. This has to be the closest to live music in the home I have ever heard.
I would be interested to hear from anyone else who has this album and listening with XX 202 W10 because I cannot remember it sounding quite like this.
Paul
Hi Paul, yes, great pieces of music. We have a "wooden" house, so no "ultra" deep bass here. Another great LP from Weather Report is "Mysterious Traveller". Joachim

And while I'm at my PC, and because I know there are quite a few car nuts here...
My gorgeous NSX is gone. I just couldn't justify keeping it with two young kids, and only two seats. So needed something with small rear seats. There was an obvious choice - I went for the limited 50th Anniversary edition, which is a very nice looking car on the inside and out. Will collect it this coming weekend when I'm back in the UK.
Will miss the NSX though - such a great, and very much under-appreciated, car.
Mani.
Hi Mani, there is no need to sell your car. See!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WCttfSBVS8Joachim

Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: My first Windows 10 experience

However, I was only able to grab 10134, which is now the current version. Hi Michael, Are you sure about this 10134 ? Not that I don't trust you, but I see nothing of this build anywhere. Is this what you downloaded from the page I gave ? or is this what you received through an upgrade ? Thanks ... Peter As of last night, on the "fast" Windows Update setting, latest was 10130. I don't think the more recent builds are available as isos. But if Michael is correct, then throw everything I just said out the window. Or he is able to download the most recent/unstable developer builds, which I cannot. Hi Jud, I just check it. When you are going to the link mentioned under reply#8, and go to Englisch, you still get. Joachim

Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: XXHighEnd 2.01 Sample Rate Problems

-correct - bloody h... Haha. But yes, I now realize that a setting in XXHighEnd for this would be overkill, but is still the way to do it because that will be remembered ... Peter Ha, ha, not from my side! So, with the *.tst file XXH 2.01 works perfectly. My problem is now, compared to 1.186-e, I don't get the same sound with identical settings. I will have a look into the manual. ArcPrediction is identical to the previous release 1.186-e I think. It would be a great help to see your settings (for the NOS1a) for a starting point. Joachim

Joachim,
Please refrain from deleting posts. Also, your deleted post in the other topic made sense to me, this one now does not much.
Anyway let me guess : You installed 2.01 and did not rename the Driver103.tss to Driver103.tst. -correct - bloody h...
How this is related to 48KHz files being OK (which you wrote almost explicitly in your deleted post) is beyond me, so maybe something else is going on after all. So let me know ! - I have no 48KHz files -
Regards, Peter
I will check the renaming to *.tst in the late afternoon. Thanx Joachim

Awesome. Looking forward to hearing your filters.
To anyone subscribed to this topic, there is a new 2.01 version that now supports these filters. In one word, they are UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!! Hi Peter, Is it possible to know your settings within 2.01. Joachim
