I would just like to congratulate Gerard for having a super clean and tidy listening room! I daren't show my wife this photo as compared to yours my room is closer to the aftermath of an hurricane, so I won't be posting any similar photos. I must console myself, I read a review once that suggested that if the sound was allowed to diffract from many obstructions it created a more 3D sound, and that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Brian thanx hahaha... But really i have two kids that can turn it within 2 min in a total disaster. Took me a few minutes to clean it up. (Meaning grab everything together and throw it on the seat.)

Pedal, Congratulations!! nice to hear! Have much fun. Got my NOS1 today after some bad weather DHL delay. Opened the box and, surprise, surprise, it’s painted in blue! Looks like nothing else, he-he. When you manufacture a State Of The Art DAC and sell it at such a reasonable price as Peter does, I guess it allows him some personal quirkiness in choice of styling… Cold out of the box, it sounded dark and muddy. But then I realized that my active X-over was adjusted to suit the “hot” sounding Weiss INT202 Firewire interface. After recalibration the X-O back to normal (quick, approximate settings by ear) I managed a quick listen to a $18 album download from HD Tracks in 24/96: Jimmy Cobb - Jazz in the Key of Blue. -A superb recording of a jazz quartet, playing some relaxed mainstream standard tunes. Yep, it’s THE Jimmy Cobb. -The drummer on Kind Of Blue, now in his 80s and still having a busy recording career at Chesky Records. It took me only a few minutes to realize that the NOS1 is something special. Even cold out of the box, it delivers the most “real” trumpet sound I have heard from a Hi-Fi system. It’s brassy without being too edgy. -Just glorious pure and "immediate" sounding. Also I quickly noticed Jimmy’s discrete kickdrum sounding more immediate, dry and distinct. The NOS1 seems to have a more pure and quick bass, than what I am used with. I have loaded a huge playlist of 16/44 which will run silently 24/7 for the next weeks in order to speed up the burn-in time. I am really looking forward to spend more time together with the NOS1 in my system. More detailed listening reports will follow. Stay tuned.

There is something strange going on. Playing XX Unattended on Ramdisk it did not work. Just no sound. but also no error's come up. Playing XX Unattended on SSD XX shows a message that i had to install autohotkey first before wanting to play Unattended. So it looks like playing on ramdisk makes the message not apear. And XX react normal with loading files and disapearing. But no sound

After pushing the volume i do not see something strange other than the green lights stay's on. I would say this "prooves" that XXHighEnd is on the screen already, hence or you are not playing Unattended at all, or you brought it up to change the volume (and next use Alt-u to do that). With Unattended there is no such thing as a GUI ... dumm me... Mixed them up.... So yes that would be Attended then.

Than i do not understand. When i play music the situation in like the screenshot above. So yes xxhighend is there! But with that 32 behind it. (See screenshot above) After pressing ALT\U and waiting 10 sec still it there. (See screenshot above) Hard to answer questions eh ? haha
So ... I still don't have the answer. Anyway Gerard, in your cae you bring up XX to change the volume. This should work, but is not what I'm asking for. Again :
When music is playing (Unattended), there should be no XXHighEnd.exe there. Is there ? After Alt-u, and looking 10 seconds later, is there ?
Not less and certainly not more (like starting XXHighEnd).
?

Hi Mani, First that you have one too. Than indeed i had to reboot a couple of time's before the thing is asked. But that is not the problem you have. To be honest i had a few problems with attended en stopped trying. Sometime's i had a black screen trying those. First try to lower you SFS. That makes my pc react some better. Good luck! EDIT: See now that yours is not that high Peter's issues are much more urgent than mine, but I'm having trouble with my NOS1 that I'm hoping new owners might be able to help me with...
Whenever the NOS1 is on and the Juli@ driver has been installed, I'm getting very frequent PC freezes. Each requires a hard re-boot. I have managed to get some sound for a maximum of a few minutes (and how great those few minutes were) but of course, I'd like to get sound indefinitely with no freezes.
Did any of you have any similar issues once you installed the Juli@ drivers? If so, how did you overcome them?
Cheers, Mani.
PS. The issue exists whether I boot into W7 or W2008SP1.

If you're only serious with that. When not, try to ask more direct questions ... I mean, there's not much use in copying the text from the guide, but whether that is clear enough ? ... This is why you are a trial for just that (the guide). Did not want to bother you further. But ok what will (can) happen when a mistake is made? And why is it ok during a boot and not when it is on? quadrupule.... Haha answer as quick as possible than. (Btw that explains a lot you allready had the dubbel)

Ok. The latency in XX i understand but this question was about the latency in the Julia console. The one where i had to push MON. You forgot my number one question. 2: When i push the On\Off button Off the red light next to the connector stay's on. Not quit as bright as when the button is on but still the light is red This tells me the PC is still On ? ... which is not allowed. That is, it is not allowed to switch off the DAC when the PC is still On. You can perfectly boot the PC without the DAC being On though. Anyway ... what you see from the red light is the small voltage which is on the PCIe buss. This is just how the light (led) is connected, and harmless. The latency ... Well, there is no such thing as a correct setting. It is the same as all the stories you read in here and very personal I guess. I myself use 2048 (and Q1 = 1) with KS Adaptive Mode. For KS Special Mode I always used 512 and Q1 = 64. The latter was merely because I couldn't go lower (for 384) while now I can. But I never really examined it for SQ, plus I never liked Special Mode. That may be a matter of finding the right settings though. Not much help, but hopefully sufficient for now. Peter
