Just found this little puppy of a proggy:
Album Art Aggregator
http://team.thenexusnet.com/nexus/AAA/

Also, I know this is being picky and a pain for everyone that has already named their covers "folder.jpg"  But instead of folder shouldn't you call it "cover.jpg"  I think a lot of new people may have theirs named that.

Well, I have it working here as per your settings. Right now I'm running Q1 -3 inverted or 13 unchecked polarity.   Appoint Processor core checked.  When I installed Vista a while ago I had got rid of multi users by unchecking that a long time ago, has always booted right to desktop.. never typed in passwords when I install, I've always had admin from boot.  I did check mark shortcuts of explorer and XXHE to admin privileges, but it doesn't ask each time I start XXHE/explorer "Are You Sure"... so don't know what you mean.  Anyway it runs and is playing music.  Laptop has a Pentium M735 1.73 GHz cpu. Code name Dothan cpu.  2 Gigs of ram...I'm guessing I have a dedicated audio pc working as you outlined?

One thing that is different than your pic in XXCPU01.png is that the box next to Music Root is Not next to Music Root in my setup, but down in the middle of the window.... What is that Music Root box for?

Anyway no real listening yet... just set up and early evening here.
514  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Well hehe who knows on: October 07, 2007, 06:10:10 am
I was just listening to Al Stewart's Rooms in Rhyme (an awesome disc ... wav heh) and it was sounding great at Q1 13.  I switched to Q1 -3... hmm liked the 13 better... decided to invert phase... omg, it completed synced up.  outstanding and better than I've heard before.  no "cracks" on this one... so who knows, recording dependent.  If you're a tweaker, this is the player for you, if you're not, it still is heads and tails above every other player I've tried... is there a player I haven't tried for window hehe, I don't think so.
515  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Question about Q1 slider on: October 06, 2007, 03:16:19 am
Although I'm enamored with setting -3, I get small "crack" sounds, (almost like playing a record),  I still like my settings of 13 and 14 which to my ears are best for my system.... a very nice presentation, better bass and not as stressed sounding as -3.  -3 is alluring in that it sounds clear as a bell, but music is not placed as "good" for me in the soundstage and bass not as hard hitting as 13/14.  It's a very hard decision, and a lot of times comes down to what album I'm listening to and my mood.  I'm glad I have the choice and look forward to exploring other Q1 settings.  btw -2 doesn't sound as good and I think when I move from there up the phase is starting to weird out... although I may need to explore with reverse, I'm not sure a 180 will really change what I'm hearing.
edit:
I really bet these are all very system dependent settings with this Q1... each music system plays with phase different from another system.
516  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: The Q1 and it's mystery on: October 01, 2007, 06:12:38 am
A little bit more time spent and...

I began to hear "cracks" in the sound at -4 so I moved up to -3... I think it's stable here.  I am amazed at how clear, see through it is sounding at this Q1 setting.  Usually when things start sounding so clear I start looking for what has been striped of the music to make it so transparent.... (kinda like when I was exploring with silver wire interconnects).  But I just don't feel there is any leanness or notes being cut off here... just great transparency with the weight of the music left intact.  I'm going to qualify that I still think I need more listening time... but, this seems to be a substantial improvement to me even over setting 13... which I still like, but now seems a bit "cloudy" compared to -3... I'll move to -2 if I start to think there's still "cracking" under complex music, but it's hard to hear when complex music is on hehe.  Bass might be different, but it still hits pretty hard, and may be the same, just sounds different with everything else being so clear and extended.  Should I try reversing phase?  I haven't felt I need to.  Sorry for the rambling.  New version, yea.  I need to add album art to the majority of my collection :/ that should take forever and a day.  Should I invest in a scanner and scan my own CDs in? suggestions on a scanner?
I also may go back to splitting my wav files, I think it didn't (really?) harm the files when I did that.
517  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: The Q1 and it's mystery on: September 27, 2007, 06:30:52 am
Well, never got to hear Q1 30... would crackle and break up for me 28 was ok,,, but I felt I was getting distortion.  I still primarily listen to 13, but occationally still listening to -4, -3, -2... been way to busy to really evaluate, and just generally happy with 13.  I'll have more time this weekend.  hiyall
518  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: The Q1 and it's mystery on: September 23, 2007, 01:03:40 am
Ok look what you fools have me doing (chk sig).  I don't know that I can say anything just yet... I'm really not sure and unfortunately I've only gotten to listen when tired or background/quick checks.  All I can say is just when you think you're sure about your preferences in audio, something else pops up that makes you question it. sigh.  Not only am I bouncing between Q1 13 & -4, but I'm also questioning (NOT SURE at all) if there is a sound quality difference between using wav/cue files with explorer and straight wav from library... I do know I don't get errors when using wav with -4 but do get a timed out for eng 3 with -4 using cue/wav once in a while...also trying to listen to wav files I've split with Medieval CUE Splitter which also don't give errors with -4... sigh too much on the plate.... i just wanna have fun hehe

Do I really have to worry about hurting anything?... what am I stressing by testing -4?  (I didn't jump to -2 or -3 like you pussies... I went straight to -4 baby... hehe just looking for big differences first so I can get a handle on it)
519  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Buglist as per September 13, 2007 on: September 20, 2007, 06:45:06 am
This isn't a bug, but are we listing things here that might contribute to a final release?  I was just listening to an old joni mitchell album "miles of aisles" and it is recorded with HDCD.  I don't have many of those, and I'm guessing that these type of discs aren't made anymore? But, well, should it be supported in the player?  HDCD discs do sound a lot better when played back with an HDCD player, and sound kinda thin when not.
520  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Diff. in SQ using Vistas different versions? on: September 16, 2007, 07:48:12 pm
Am going to try Vista for audio-only playback. Any differences in the different versions of Vista when it comes to audio playback? Is one version better than the rest regd. this?

Talking about 32bit versions.

I would go with Vista Home Premium... I've had nothing but good luck with this with PeterSt player... I guess he's already said something about buisness... maybe you could do without the Prem and just get basic... I wouldn't try to do upgrades... but that's just me not trusting MS.  I bought a full version of Vista Home Premium 32-bit (I don't think xxhighend works yet with 64bit) OEM System Builder Pack for ~$100. US from Frys Electronics... gl.
521  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Buglist as per September 13, 2007 on: September 16, 2007, 07:39:26 pm
I think it would be helpful to have a ">" marker next to the track that is playing.  That way if you are highlighting other tracks for whatever reason, you would still see a > next to the track that is playing... (plate a bit full there yet PeterSt? hehe sorry... I'm happy as a clam with SQ playback so... anything up and above what a normal cdp does is all gravy to me).
522  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Buglist as per September 13, 2007 on: September 16, 2007, 07:34:22 pm
Moving tracks within the playlist to another position shows an error (all the time). It moves the track well though...

Hmm
Using CUE to see song titles, I get an error too when moving song titles.  But when I try to move the song, along with the error, it replaces the song title with the album's whole wav in the new place I moved it.

I haven't seen any of the other errors people are reporting... yet.  I'll let you know if I do.
523  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Buglist as per September 13, 2007 on: September 16, 2007, 07:25:21 pm

That would be true ...
In that case for each track the whole album has to be reloaded ...

It can be smarter, but at the time I had been more busy with it than I thought in advance. So to be honest I thought "let it be for now; other things must have more prio currently".
Remember, if you load the album (the large WAV) into the Playlist Area by means of the Library button, it will be treated as if it were no cue file ...

sorry

Yes, no big deal for me.  Here is what I did for one of her albums to get around wait time and still use cue to get to song list.
1) Took out diacritical marks in single wav file name.
2) Took out diacritical marks in cue file name.
3) Took out diacritical marks in wav file name cue file references so it can find the single wav.
4) and here's the surprise: Took out diacritical marks in folder name files are under.

As a side side note... What do you think about adding "Name of Artist" and "Album Name" along with song title to each for each album info... would be helpful when I start mixing up songs from various albums.  As it is now with CUE file play I just see the song titile.
Kinda like this:
02. Miracle Fortress - [Five Roses #02] Have You Seen In Your Dreams
(example name from how foobar handles it)
 Thanks PeterSt.
524  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Buglist as per September 13, 2007 on: September 16, 2007, 06:19:09 pm
When using CUE file to play Björk albums (I have 4) the load times between songs is greater than 30 secs.  I'm guessing this is because of diacritical marks.  Of course if I load the single wav file the gaps between songs are correct.  I'm going to try taking out diacritical marks one at a time in her name in the cue file info and see if that helps correct... it may be as simple as that?  I don't think I have many albums with diacritical marks ... we'll see.
525  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Volume Control(s) on: September 16, 2007, 06:01:01 am

How many steps do you think there are in 32 bits ? hahahaha too many to write down.

But no, it can't happen. Not without loosing on SQ. The point is, you don't have a 32bit DAC ...
With 24 bits it becomes "kind of" possible, but you'd have to play at over 12:00 of your normal volume knob at least.

Anyway, it sure is (more longer term) planned to do the things you ask, and all of them are not difficult. Note though that it will put constraints to your environment, and that all is one big knot which is *very* difficult to workout decently / sufficiently. One example to get you going :

My Fireface has ADAT channels, meaning that I can send 8 channels (2 x 4) to that soundcard, the soundcard distributing them to all the preamps or main amps (you'd want the latter) (thinking in terms of per loudspeaker channels (with crossovers)). Nice eh ?

Yeah well, I can do that only if I use the DACs from the soundcard. And I really won't ...
So I'd need 4 stereo DACs. And 4 x (x 2) digital-out from the ADAT supporting device. I won't buy those DACs and the Fireface does not support all the digital-outs.

But the time will come that this is all going to work ...

mmmm
that sounds nice
I'm using the Pass Labs electronic xover right now (hence the 4 analog vol knobs), and it works pretty well at letting me choose a ton of different xover points and vol settings... but putting them all in the digital range with good dacs going straight to the amps would sound even better.... someday.
